Very Cool Video

Howdy Gerhard,

Thanks for sharing that very inspirational video

I'm now ready to lose 100 pounds and buy a pair of m/c pants with sliders! The 100 pounds ain't going to happen, but the sliders are around the corner.... you know....to exercise Wolfgang properly

Very cool video that reminds me of how much I need to learn about riding.

Oh I do, I do!! Bet if I had video of my last crash it would rival any of the track ones. According to a witness, I bounced about 8 feet in the air, then tumbled and rolled down I-8 about 75 yards. Other than a busted up hand and broken ribs though, I came out of it pretty darned good. Thanks to full gear!

Ahhhhhh

In reference to other recent threads. See video for examples

Note: the rear brake is NOT for the remaining 20% of stopping power, but for steering!!

- the throttle will help you go fast , but is really intended for steering!!!

In other words - it's all about gettin around the bend!!!!!!!

Thanks Gerhard,

I'm lovin it.

you're welcome, but i have to say that i've never looked at the back brake as a steering device. back when i raced dirt track the bikes had ONLY back brakes. once you start to back into a corner you use the throttle to steer, but not the brake.

maybe this is a road-racing thing?

Yep exactly. But, a carryover from the flat trackers. Since under heavy (limit of front tire adhesion) braking, the rear brake really is useless, the young kids (ie - Haydens, Yates, Bostroms) several years ago, introduced the technique of using the rear brake to get the rear end around to get the the bike pointed through the slower corners quicker.

Then of course, throttle use takes over from there.

Look at Rossi in the rain segments of the video - awesome!!

WARNING - do not try this on your LT. It won't work anyway

I might as well sell my bike and buy a Geo Metro. I can't ride like that.
