Asking Price?

Can anyone give me some idea what I might ask for my '00 LT if I decide to sell this Spring?
It's a Custom. No mods. 6-Disc, Heated Passenger Seat along with the other standard goodies of the LT. Bassalt Grey. Around 46K
I almost feel silly admitting that I have not added any other Farkles. I just never had the need as I never really made any long haul trips.
I was thinking right around $7500

First of all...don't feel silly about adding no farkles. You're the better man for it, IMHO. And when I sell my LT...the accessories ain't going with it. Not if I can help it. I'm going to remove as much as I can. They're worth more to me than the buyer.

As for your asking price...I think $7500 is realistic. But remember, you can always come down. I would start out higher than that. And let the savvy buyer "talk you down".

For a second, I thought maybe I was being offensive starting that High! Most LT's come with some assortment of little goodies to entice a prospective buyer...At least the more permanent type installations.

Thanks for your thoughts, Joe. I don't want to be ridiculous but I sure don't want to leave money laying on the table

Heck, start high, let the buyer do the work!

The bike is listed in a couple of "blue book" type places. Can't think of the names right now.

Smile 2000 Lt

I just checked the cycle trader (www.cycletrader.com) & there must be a dozen or so Lt's with varying mileage (27k - 42k) Prices range from a low of $9,000 to some crazy dealer prices of 17k(farkled up I guess!!!). Most bikes are between $9 & $10K. I checked here as this is how I sourced my bike & have really noticed prices climbing again - probably due to spring being around the corner. Personally I think $7500 is too low - having said that you will likely get a very quick sale. What ever price you set people will barter you down so why not try between $8500-9000.

Wuz talking with the head sales guy (Gary W.) at Lone Star the other day and I axed "where's all the used LTs?". He gave me this "you kiddin' me" look and said they can't keep one on the floor longer'n a day or so. Prices for used are going up, he said, and as an example, he sold a '99 coupla weeks ago - out the door for $10,500. Nothing special about the bike - mileage less than 30k, iirc.

Be nice to see a leetle rise in used bike prices - the market should be able to handle that, as long as sellers don't git too greedy.

Get 'em while you can. When the '07 models come out, these bikes will lose market value rapidly. They will still be great bikes, but just harder to sell used.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

I'm assuming that you're referring to the '07 models as the new LT model, correct? That might not happen until '08...or do you know something that I (we) don't know?

Previous discussions have given their sources as saying in '07. It's possible it will be an early-release '08 model here in the US, and an '07 model in Europe. They've done that before.

I'm still saving my pennies either way.
