Are you one out of two?

Current new development suggest that about 50% of all PC's are infected with malware. and out of that about 16% are infected with banking trojans and password stealers. This means that your chances of getting ripped off by someone stealing your passwords and loggin on to your bank account are pretty good unless you REALLY take serious precautions.

I believe the conclusions of the article is quite intering:

"No matter which adaptive approach you’d consider (Time to ditch Windows for online banking and shopping; Live CDs), cybercriminals have clearly adapted to the currently implemented multi-factor authentication processes in place."

PC/MAC, makes little difference, it is the APPS!

Do not single out Windows users for this message! For all who think just because they are in the small percentage that use MACs they are inherently safe, read the opinions of many security experts here:

http://news.cnet.com/8301-27080_3-10...ml?tag=nl.e404

It is still very true, that the main reason MACs are a little less susceptible is their small number, NOT that the OS is better. Most say that MAC OSX is actually technically more vulnerable than VISTA and for sure WIN 7, but the small numbers make them far less susceptible to attack. Has NOTHING to do with any perceived MAC technical superiority.

Many MAC users like to feel that everyone should switch. As many of the experts state, if the market percentages for MAC keep creeping up, they will begin to attract the attention of the bad elements. So, be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

Also, it is NOT the OS that is the culprit, but the browsers etc.. Safari is seen by many experts as being more susceptible than even IE, but the attackers don't care. Not enough impact to spend the time on hacking it. If an actor has the choice of performing in front of 85+%, rather than 15-%, which do you think they will pick? Same with the hacking community.

Sorry, but I seem to miss what you are talking about.
