Re: Arrived in Arkansas

Wow, you must be old. That's where my in-laws live. I hope you like bridge, golf and bingo. That's about all there is to do there.

Nice place though. Congrats.

Re: Arrived in Arkansas

Neat. I spent two summers there during college because my family moved to HSV.

HS is not too bad once the Horse Racing season is over.

Route 7 is fun to ride north, rather flat south. My wife and I took the LT down there the last week in March, 09. Stayed in Arkadelphia to keep out of the the Oaklawn traffic and spend a great week riding in Ark, OK and La. There are some mighty nice roads through the hills,

The Ar. State web site has a pretty decent list of good bike roads and they seem a might friendly toward the biker crowd.

Wow, have not been to L.R. for BBQ since, well, last century.

Enjoy, and keep that brick handy to wake up the water snakes that seem to love the pools in HSV.

Re: Arrived in Arkansas

Another +1 for Route 7. It's a fun little road and make ya smile all the way. I even met a fine State Trooper on that road two years ago. Still a nice road.
Also look for Mena, Arkansas and find 8 and 88 and make the loop.

If you take 88 (TalaMena Hwy) to the Queen Wilhemina Lodge & have lunch you will not be disappointed. Great food & a fantastic view.
