No more motorman587

I have transferred off the motor unit and back in a car. Chevy Impala that is. Not my choice and I knew it was coming a year ago. So, now I answer calls for service. I had my first day today, not bad. Will have three days off, no more working those special events were they need a motor. No more college games in Sept, Oct, and Nov. unless I get drafted. Guess change is good, right??

Yes, stay safe. Those domestic calls are more dangerous than riding a motor.

Your title scared me! Thought you were leaving us. Fortunately it was just a job change.

Re: No more motorman587

Back to patrol. Trust me I've been there. The more slots you have before you retire, the more stories you'll have to share. I had undercover narcotics, patrol, helicopter, more patrol, crime scene, gang unit supervision, and patrol supervision. I've been shot at, attacked with a baseball bat, beer bottles, rocks, knives, cars, trucks, kicked, punched, and bit. All that and only one broken bone. I've stood next to presidents and buried three co-workers killed on-duty. I've captured bank robbers and solved homicides. Looking back, what a great ride. Enjoy the day, make the best of it, and live to retire.

An Impala?!?!?!

I didn't know anyone was still using them. Thought every one went to Crown Vics or Chargers. Saw a few Magnums on my trip to Washington last Spring too, but Impalas?

One advantage to a patrol car John...you CAN drink coffee again.

Now that's a plan! LOL

Of course, John still has his civilian ride, so he's not 100% a cager!

Be safe John, and thanks for riding shotgun on the 1%'ers.

I like it. It has a half cage, so I put my seat all the way back and "a lot" of leg room. I like the front wheel driver vs. the rear wheel with back end sliding out. I am not complaining. One of the newer cars on the fleet.
