That is common on many vehicles now. When the ignition timing gear is derived from the crankshaft instead of the cam drives, ignition spark will occur on every revolution of the crank, not just on every other one. Spark at end of the exhaust stroke happens, but does nothing.
Both of my cars have the ignition timing derived from crank sensors. Only older vehicles with distributors driven from the cam drive limit spark to only the power stroke.
Our LT ignition is this way also, The spark plugs fire on every stroke, since the timing is derived from the crank.
