Spamming "members"?

I have noticed quite a few "members" spamming the group lately. It has been so long since I joined I don't remember the process. Is it that easy? Or or they lying to get on?

Re: Spamming "members"?

I've seen a few also. I think there are more attempts than we see, AND theY get cleaned off pretty quickly by the forum gods. I think overall the're doing a great job keeping this site spam free.

Re: Spamming "members"?

If you do get spammed by a member please forward the spam to one of the mods or admins and we humanly dispose of the body (ban, ...)

I was not speaking of spam to email, but spam posts to the group.

The get eliminated very quickly, thanks. I was just wondering how they can join so easily. Doesn't a moderator have to approve someone joining the group? I was just curious.

I could not remember. I know some other groups I am on will not let you post until membership is approved, guess I was confusing them.

In the top right corner of every post (near the post #) is a red/white triangle with an exclamation mark. This can be used to report spam posts. Note this icon doesn't appear on your own posts, so no reporting yourself.

Some of the folks who live on this site (no names, please ) are pretty good about catching and reporting these posts quickly.

Angry Re: Spamming "members"?

While spam that pushes the newest and greatest version of male/female enhancement are a PITA to sort through, I think there is a bigger issue of self control at hand.
As most of us have been around for a while, allot of us have ideas and thoughts of improvements to either the rider or the bike (whatever the model) most of us push these items on the forum. This is a good thing in my opinion. Not only do you (the pusher) get eyes on your product, but others get ideas and the pro's and con's can be discussed openly as to expose any issues, wants or needs....

Here's my rant.....
Stealers or members of their staff (supporting vendor) post new items that they have gained to their shelves. Good right? Not when the items are @ a 500% mark up!!!! Doing my sarcastic, smart a$$ duty as a good citizen of the forum, I point this out as well as a few others. What is the OP's response to this you ask? Delete the disparaging post, leaving only the pro’s and close the post to responses..Nice touch!!!

Maybe its early for me, only had two cups of coffee. Not only am I pissed at these actions and the fleecing of others, but I will stop short of singling out the product or the OP...Yes, something that is out of character for me....

Merry Christmas to all and please make sure to shop prices before you go to the stealers!!!!

AS I figured when I noticed the thread locked... Probably burning bridges here and making more enemies than friends, but my experiences at that particular entity are more negative than positive (even though I bought the last two of my three BMWs from them, the after-sales treatment I received was, to say the least, downright rude!).

I've since moved on (been 4+ years since I set foot in the place) and prefer the company of the house of new BMW motors within a short, SPECIAL ride of my house...

Hoss, are you kidding me????? How could you jump so quickly from "male/female enhancement" to "bigger issue of self control at hand" so quickly!

Are you sure your name is Hoss and not Bob the smiley guy on the commercials?

Great job!
