Paris to Saarland via train????

We are going over to Germany this summer to visit wifes family. There are no direct flights from my area to Frankfurt but there are direct flights to Paris. Is anyone familiar with Degaulle airport? How do you get from airport to train station? How far is it? How hard will it be to get a fast train from Paris to maybe Saarbrucken or St. Wendel in Germany?
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks

About the only one of your questions I can answer is about DeGaulle airport. Unless they've changed it, you'll think you are in a third world country, pardon the verbage but a real shit hole. I'd avoid it if possible. Can you fly into Munich? How about Zuirch?

Mpillis: It is not the greatest airport in Europe, for sure.I usually fly in to Zurich,Amsterdam or London.Zurich being my favorite. If you could avoid Charles de Gaulle, great. If not,I'm sure you will be fine.It is just an airport where you catch a flight, you are not moving there!

Enjoy the trip!Robert.

Have you thought about flying in to the Frankfurt/Hahn airport? You can catch the train at Kastellaun, I'm sure they have a shuttle running to the train station. Or you could just rent a car and drive it, It is 114 km from Ramstein/Hahn airport to Saarbrucken. Some of the most beautiful countryside you'll ever drive through.

Re: Paris to Saarland via train????

If I fly to Amsterdam, I may not make it to germany. I may park my ass right there for a while. But I don't need to get to Frankfurt I need to get to somewhere near Saarbrucken or Saarland area. Thanks for the thought though
