Cad programs for Mac's

Hi all,
I am looking into Cad programs for Mac computers. I am considering adding on to my new home and would like the capability of making some floor plans to scale for contractors to use for quoting.
The features that would be nice to have are:
Symbols libraries for home furnishings.
Ability to draw double lines for walls etc.
Import export drawings from Auto-Cad libraries or dwg format
Create pdf files to e-mail to prospective contractors.
Create 3D versions from 2D floor plan. (nice but not 100% required)
Do machine type drawings would be nice also.

Cost less than $500.00 (remember, cheapest thing on a BMW is the owner)

Versions I have looked at are:

Microspot Mac Draft. Seems to get fairly good reviews.

IMSI Turbo Cad v4 for Mac

Would appreciate any input on any program that you are using or familiar with.

TIA

Roy

Re: Cad programs for Mac's

Found these 2 for 150 bucks

http://www.punchsoftware.com/full_store.html

and

http://www.ilexsoft.com/index.html (demo version available)

I have not used either of them. Remember that if you have experience of a Windows CAD program you could set up your Mac to dual boot and if you have your old windows disk use them to create the OS.

Re: Cad programs for Mac's

I used to use Pro/Engineer for a living and have been drafting since High School. I can get a lot done in Google Sketch Up http://sketchup.google.com/ and the free price is hard to beat. Lots of help and libraries on the web.

My last project was Window Seat for my daughter's room. Still working the project, in fact, I need to get it done before I can get back to my LT Clutch. (There, now its a bike related post )

There are a few shots of of the model in this gallery:

Re: Cad programs for Mac's

I tried to find good CAD software for a Mac also but was not satisfied with what I found. I bought and tried IMSI Turbo Cad v2 for Mac but thought it was extremely poor. Maybe IMSI has made significant enhancements to V4 but I remain skeptical.

As a result, I have continued to use Windows version 11.2 Turbo CAD on my only remaining Microsoft PC (kept for Turbo CAD and Garmin's Map Source) and I am very pleased with the maturity of that Turbo CAD program.
