$75/foot speaker cables and other scams

I like the RCA plug audio cables that need to be broken in with special currents (digital works best) and have a preferred installation direction. Or, plug a $270 Tice clock in the same outlet as your battery tender, and your bike will get better gas mileage (I made that one up)...

Re: $75/foot speaker cables and other scams

I thought $75/foot was expensive. Someone sent me this today. Speaker cables that cost more than a BMW car:

When you've gotten over the sticker shock, and you realize you're ready for
the next level, visit this page:

Of course, none of that makes any sense if you don't have a decent power
cord. Check out the Audo Magic Clairvoyant Power Cord, at only $1500 for a
six footer. If you want that little bit extra, go for the Audo Magic
Clairvoyant S.E. Power Cord at only $4000 for six feet.

Thanks Dave! For years I have been saying the same thing. The O/P cables are thicker and more attractive visually, BUT, that has NOTHING to do with sound or pic quality.

Jay Leno said that he was the president of the more money than brains club.

I've never done an A-B test on these cables, but would bet that very few could tell the difference. My ears are so bad that I'm just happy when I can understand the words...

Those cables are great. I even rewired my LTs speakers to use them.

More for the audio superphile to waste money on - Why, you just can't hear pure quality audio without synchronizing everything with a Rubidium Master Oscillator providing .05 parts per billion stability! For $15k, you also get a high quality "rhodium plated power inlet plug..." As a member of the Tin Ear Society, I will pass on this one.

If I have a Surround Sound system with 6 speakers, do I need six of these?

Magnum M3.3 Interconnect
$1,999.00
Featuring selectable impedance matching circuits, the Magnum M3.3 allows the sonic image to bloom without losing resolution. This is the hallmark of Magnum M3.3 Interconnects. With articulation plots that compliment the incredible M3.3 Speaker Cable, this interconnect redefines what we previously regarded as the ultimate in High End interfacing. Without peer at this price, The M3.3 will deliver the signal in a linear and open presentation, even at very high sound pressure levels, allowing many hours of listening enjoyment at every sitting. Single ended or balanced. 14 poles of articulation.
