So THAT'S How It's Done -- Read the FAQ and Follow Directions

Doh!!

I've been wondering:
1. What are the cute slogans attached to the small colored boxes by our names in a post? Example: "hschisler is on a distinguished road"
2. How does one add emoticons (smilies) to the message of a post -- not just the title line?
3. How does one create inline bold, italic, and other effects in a message?
4. How does one get away from the use of GMT in all posts?
5. What are "reputation points"?

I read the FAQ, which told me to edit my profile and select the appropriate options. I did that, and it works (obviously). The FAQ also discussed reputation points.

Amazing. I may have to read more directions.

What, and risk starting a trend?

Instead of actually reading directions and instructions it is MUCH easier to just ask someone to explain it for the umpteenth time!

Anyway, hat's off to you! And thanks.

Thanks David, but I still have an ultimate goal of getting one of you super-members in front of me to answer a thousand questions and install a dozen things for me. There is so much I want to know, so much I need to know, and several things I want to do to the bike but don't have the skills.

I'll do another post about "tech sessions". Have heard about them but don't know what they are. Sounds intriguing...

Tech Session:

Social gathering where those that know help those that don't and everyone enjoys. May include gastronomic goodies too.

Edit your profile and select the option to use the full-GUI editor. So much nicer than coding HTML and emoticon keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks for the help. I've been trying to figure out the smilie thing for a while. It seems to work sometimes and not others. I did switch to the WYSIWYG editor as you suggested and it looks to be easier.
