Thanx, Lynn. I'm still waiting for my 200,000 mile brass BMW medallion from BMW Motorrad USA.

I am NOT a high mileage rider. That 200,000 miles was on several Beemers and dates back to my first /5 airhead in 1972. That averages out to less than 6,000 miles per year. I ride more than 6,000 mi/yr now that I am retired, but did many years less than that when I was a working slob. I've been riding Beemers for 34 years.

I just realized I missed congratulating you in my first post. (What an idiot!)

Just wanted to add a special thanks for the honest reply to Lynn. Sometimes I get tired of the peeing contest that riders get into, regarding miles per year. Sure there's nothing worse than a poser. But 200,000 miles is 200,000 miles...no matter how long it takes.

Lastly, how does one go about officially documenting their "BMW miles"? Did you photocopy your titles before and aft, or what?

Thanx, Joe. No, I didn't have any real concrete evidence of my mileage. I kept track of it in my own service notes and gas mileage books, and people basically took my word for it. Not something you want to cheat on.

As I recall, BMWMOA will accept info that you supply. BMWNA, however, is a different matter. They want your dealer to certify that you put the miles on each bike that you submit, and they want the VIN of each bike. In my case, I have a dealer that trusts me.

I didn't care so much about BMWMOA - I submitted to them because I had all the info handy - I want that 200,000 mile brass medallion from BMWNA! When (if?) I get it, it will replace the 100,000 mile brass medallion presently mounted on my LT.
