Cardiac arrest this afternoon. Taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Official time of death: When the big touched the little hand.

Cold. Really cold.

I was never a big fan of his - but I think Channing has it right.

He was an amazing talent and he will be missed.

We started to lose him more than 20 years ago, when talent began turning to pure weirdness. Yet another bad result from a culture that elevates popularity to almost godliness.

Re: Michael Jackson Dead

Lots of musicians walk on the weird side for our enjoyment. I can remember, er uh, David Bowie, Weird Al Yankovic, Meat Loaf, Alice Cooper (early days-now a duffer), Village People, etc. Jackson crossed to the dark side when he hung the baby over the rail, installed the ultimate farkle-plastic nose, the kid thing, and whatever else we don't need to know. Blot all that out, he was a GREAT musician. R.I.P.

Re: Michael Jackson Dead

You watch the hypocrisy of the press turn him into a virtual saint - after what they said about him in the past. Happened to Lady Diana over here - the press slated her for years, then when she died, slated anyone who didn't bow down to the myth that she was the best thing that happened to the royal family ever.
The media makes them, breaks them and then saints them after they die.

His talents were supreme, especially in the "Thriller" era. His exploits over the last decade were certainly strange, and turned most people who originally liked him off for good. I liked him early, could not stand to look at him later.

I am one that is not going to miss him. Maybe its because I absolutely don;t care for child molesters, or maybe it's because I am just as good in grabbing my balls as he was grabbing his, or because I don;t believe grabbing your balls on stage is a real feat.

Anyway, in this case its "Good riddance" as he should have been behind bars in the first place.

I will not miss him either...or the incessant news coverage over the coming days. Believe it or not, even Wimbledon and other sports channels have managed to work in the Michael Jackson BS!

This world is in trouble and the sheer number of people who idolize such a degenerate as Michael Jackson speaks volumes. Just because someone is a good "artist" does NOT excuse the rest of his miserable life.

This thread points to the real issue but skirts it. Performers are NOT role models, they are human beings. Not that we are his judges, but consider this; He was a excellent singer, an outstanding performer, correographer, and transformed music video's art form. On the personal side, he was deeply troubled and had a fragile, if any, grip on reality.

Admire him for what he was, pity or hate him (your choice) for what he was not or you think he wasn't. Channing, as usual, hit the bulls eye.

Re: Michael Jackson Dead

He was a brilliant artist with his mind somewhere other than on Earth. This is a common combination. Whether the molestation charges are true or not, it will not overshadow the fact that he is he greatest musical artist this country has ever produced. The most popular world wide. (Have you ever seen modern music videos from India) .

If not for the reluctances of MTV to play music and videos from black artists he would have been much bigger much sooner. World Wide, due to his early death, history will make him the greatest artist of all time. Already there’s been a flood of down loads for his already “Overplayed” music. A trend that will continue for months to come, maybe years. And the more publicity….the more record and video sales.

Because of the past publicity I’ve kept my kids away from MJ. (I also keep my kids away from Britney Spears and her nasty little sister...Zoey) But guess who my kid's favorite artist is? I can’t stop his music from being played on the radio. I like it myself. This week end, if I can find it….before they are sold out…I’m gonna introduce my kids to all his music videos. I just hope that after they see how great he really is, that they don't see him as a god. Little "G".

Re: Michael Jackson Dead

RIP Michael...You sick , Talented freak.

Try to remember him for what he was before he took the white acid.

That's the problem when you're talented to that level.
For some people it's almost like being an idiot/savant.
You're completely brilliant at that one thing, But are totally screwed up in most other ways.

You're turned into a demigod by those around you and suddenly you can do no wrong. No one EVER says no to you and you begin to feel like you can get away with anything. It just completely messes you up...

I was touring during the "Coke years". Over indulgence ruined a lot of folks.

Why do you think Elvis died so early... Ultimate power ultimately corrupts.

This also happens a lot with politicians. They can start to feel that they're above the law or morality and you know what happens then..

Back in the day Michael was the shhiznit... But that was a long time and many surgeries ago....

Guess I'll get out my Thriller album and give it a spin.

Oh yeah, Elvis will always be "The King"

Grace Rwaramba is Michael Jacksons Childrens Nanny

It is believed that he secretly married Grace (according to real estate documents) a couple of years ago. Grace Rwaramba, 42, is fighting the children’s grandmother, Katherine Jackson for custody of Michael Jacksons’s Kids. Grace Rwaramba is from Rwanda.

Yeah, wait for the monumental slugfest that erupts over whatever assets he may still have. It will make the James Brown estate battle look like a minor disagreement.

I do believe that I heard on the am news that he was millions in debt.
Although after death sales may just tidy that bottom line up a bit.
Also seems like Elvis is worth more dead than while alive.

Sold Out 50 concerts with 750,000 tickets sold in a few minutes. Yup. Sounds like one creep the world is better off without.

Actually I think Tupac Shakur, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley are all hiding out in Antigua laughing about all of this.

OK, I'm not defending him but...he was an amazing talent that had no childhood and was taken advantage of by adults that wanted to make money from his talent. And the most greedy, disgusting bastard of all was his father. The one person that should have been protecting him from everyone else was the first in line to make a buck from his prodigy (not to mention beating him on a regular basis). Yes, Michael Jackson was pretty screwed up, but many who should have been looking out for him had a hand in making him that way. RIP.

Re: Michael Jackson Dead

Yeh, he's dead..... Good riddance

What gets me is yesterday I tried to read my morning newpaper and the first 15 pages were about wacko jacko. It was also armed forces day yesterday and the first mention in the paper (daily mail) about honouring the people who fight for my country was on page 17.

I think Chris Rock once said "THAT AINT RIGHT". nuff said.
