Dadfest '09 - Cars, Bikes, Etc....

Check this out... This is what I will be riding down the center aisle of the church this Sunday on my way to deliver the message on Father's Day! (see pics below). We will be having a special celebration of Fathers called "DadFest '09 including a Custom Car Show at the church with 25-30 classic and muscle cars...custom bikes (two onstage and two at the front entrance)...a CanAm Spyder...a Race Car, boats, motorcycles etc. Just thought you might want to see how a cool pastor rides to church!

(Seriously, I'm gonna do it!!!)

You might get some ugly looks from the little old ladies in the congregation, but the men, young and old, are gonna love it. What time is all of this going to take place? I've been wanting to hear you deliver a message. This may be the weekend to do it.

Re: Dadfest '09 - Cars, Bikes, Etc....

We have two services...9 & 11 AM. Honestly, the message will be VERY brief...we're just gonna have a great time and honor dads for the great impact they have on the family and world around them! Then we're gonna go "kick some tires" together!

Also, I failed to mention...

To recognize the "oldest father", "Father with Most Children in attendance", etc....we are going to have six RECLINERS on the front row, with a table beside each one and a "Dad's Root Beer" and a Moon Pie on each table... Each "special dad" also receives his very own giant remote control (engraved with the date and award information). Too cool!!!!

Probably gonna have band play, "Born to Be Wild" as I ride it down!!!

You could make this a series, next week, "Christian ATGATT, putting on the full armor" Not even sister Bertha better than you, could complain that you're not reaching the congregation. I'll give you an AMEN! right now.

What a cool idea. Make it fun, while appreciating all that fathers do.

But I dunno, I think it could use a couple more logos . . .

That's exactly what we're gonna do!!! The way I had it figured, most dads (if they're honest) would rather be doing a lot of things other than going to church on Father's Day, but some will go (under silent protest) just because their wives or children want them to go.

So, I thought...why not make Father's Day a complete day of enjoyment???? Why not go out of our way to make it memorable??? I'm tellin' ya...everyone is on board with this and the whole church is really into it!!!!

When it comes time for me to speak, our Worship Leader is going to look puzzled and say, "Well, the pastor is supposed to be onstage now....where is he?" Then the band (which can absolutely BLAZE!!!) is going to start playing "Born to Be Wild" and I'm gonna crank that sucker up and ride it up a ramp right onto the stage!!!!!

THEN, the worship leader is gonna say, "You know Jack, just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber....you go and do something like this.......AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!!"

It's gonna be a BLAST!!!!!!

Is there a record for the most pews jumped by a motorcycle during an actual service?

Hopefully you'll have a fire extinguisher nearby in case The Law of Unintended Consequences rears its ugly head.

Okay, just getting back to this thread.

Sounds like a cool thing to do at church! But, where are the pictures? THAT would be very cool to see!

Just ride it!

Re: Dadfest '09 - Cars, Bikes, Etc....

I went back to Pastor Jack's church this morning. He showed me the black marks he left on the floor. OOPS!

Coming out of turn two, Jack nearly put her over the wall and into the stands. Scared a lady half to death! The "Deathmobile" was sitting in the foyer this morning. I thought he might take a few more laps this morning.

Hey, Jack. Any videos of the hot laps?
