AIG Bailout

I have tried to find out exactly where the bailout money given to AIG is going or has gone but there does not seem to be much information available to explain the process - if in fact - it can be explained. Does anyone know? The amounts are staggering and appear to grossly exceed by at least a factor of five or more the amounts talked about for the domestic auto industry.

That's easy: back in October AIG employees had a 5 day "vacation" at a resort in Orange County, CA. The total price YOU paid for THEIR little vacation was just UNDER $500,000!

Hey, running a huge company into the ground is hard work! They really needed the get away. AND who says bail-outs are bad?

Have a nice day!

I think they had a "re-organization" retreat just a few weeks ago, too. Man, it must be a lot of hard work running a company into the ground.

Re: AIG Bailout

Check out these books. Nothing new going on today that was not planned a long time ago and we are just seeing these well orchestrated plans being executed.

If you would like to see where money is not only needed but is being, IMO, criminally withheld from those that have earned it, just visit a large veteran's hospital and or outpatient center! Ask a Vet how long it takes to process a claim or to receive a yearly medical pension after the claim was submitted.

I talked to a WWII Vet and his wife that had been sitting in the dental office at the Allentown Va center for hours waiting to have his remaining three teeth cleaned, for $50. What a deal!

When I called last year to ask where my disability money was, the employee set the phone on his desk and I heard the group of claims processors state, "just tell the guy anything, we were told not to process any claims!" And, this is when the system actually works.

When I first applied for disability, my claim sat on a shelf for three friggin' years before I found out about it. Before the man died that had my file, he apologized on the phone and said he was sorry for any harm he had caused me. I am certain it was not his decision not to process my claim.

Over 5,000 veteran's appeals for disability claims in just one year! My appeals process started in 1979 and finally was denied with the last appeal in 2007! How many more just give up and never get any of the money they deserved? When I last called for assistance from the Governor's VA office, I was told there were 450,000 claims they had not even started yet.

CAN NOT disagree with you, sir! I have contact with numerous vet's as I respond to various large government run hospitals in my patrol area. The way they are treated by the VA is a CRIMINAL shame.

The VA, much like the SSA, is just another WORTHLESS, hack infested, big nanny-state government agency that MUST be eliminated.

Re: AIG Bailout

Let me try and answer your question.

AIG is in the Insurance business. It is worldwide and insures against lots of casualities. Generally it is hard to fail in insurance if you can do actuaral tables. Here is how I think they did it.

Hank Paulson led a group of bankers and insurance executives to the Fed and Treasury to ask that the government not regulate "Credit Swaps". Unfortunately the ideologs at Treasury and the Fed agreed with Paulson and the boys. Credit Swaps are really insurance except that there is no provision that the insurer put up any money against losses.

Investors began buying Credit Swaps against defaults in the Sup Prime Mortgage bonds they were buying. (An investor could get as much as 10% and get insurance against default) Sounds like a deal.

When they defaulted there was no money to pay claims.

If the first bailout had not occurred the ripple effect would have been felt arround the world not only with financial instutions but also Municipalities, schools, collages, and lots of bond funds. Everyone is a stakeholder in this debaukle.

Well the first $25 billion is gone and they need more. Stay tuned.

The first PORK-OUT did occur and the ripple IS STILL being felt around the world!

The stress of said PORK-OUT is causing certain AIG associates to need one week, $500,000 vacations.

Everyone IS a stakeholder in this cluster F'K. Said "ripple" will continue to be felt for as long as we keep propping up these FAILED corporations and worthless hacks that run them--instead of purging them from the market and into a jail cell!

Stay tuned: additional PORK to follow! Relax, we can always PRINT more money!

It has occurred to me that if we "need" to spend Billion$ to jump start our economy, we could start with the the VA system; buildings, medical equipment, techs, nurses, doctors etc. Housing for disabled vets; more rehab; increase scholarships.

More Fed boarder guards, increase staff at the FDA, increase funds for the Center of Disease Control, up date and increase staff at the Fed Air Traffic facilities, increase staff and facilities for port inspections. Expand staff and facilities for the FBI.

Maybe its time to buy more post cards to mail to CONgress?

Here you have a Governor that plans on leaving the GOUSofA, as many people have before him, and a growing list of those with the means to do so, will continue. The writing is on the wall. This is all a very well orchestrated event, taking decades to put into action.

Someone on here posted www.zeitgeistmovie.com. Great piece of work and tells it the way it is.

I don't have enough left in me today to even get started on the absolute criminal actions of the SSD offices and their agents, nor the IRS!

For the ever so slightest bit of hope, check out "Infinity's Flowers" on Amazon.
