Re: Will the bastard win the election???

I guess we'll have to get behind the bastard. Who knows. Maybe he won't futz it up like I suspect he will. Looks like in a lot of places, people want change. I guess they forgot Congress has been controlled by the Dems since 2006, and what a super job they've done since then.

If the country becomes fudged, how long will it be before his followers call for his head on a plate? How silly of me. Carter really messed things up and he still has supporters. Dumb as a sack of hair.

Yes but will there be any money left to buy ammo after the "Contribution to those less fortunate" is removed from our paychecks?

Looks like he just did. McCain just gave his concession speech, and Obama is due on stage momentarily for his acceptance speech.

Is it too early to begin asking for more change?

Well hold on guys: you EVIL gun owners are part of the RICH that have NOT been paying your FAIR share. So, after all the higher taxes, to spread the wealth around, there will be some additional HUGE gun/ammo taxes. After all, anyone that can afford something as frivolous as a firearm can, no doubt, afford to, FINALLY, pay their FAIR share!

Have a nice day.

Four years, I'd say. If he screws it up, we'll just put someone else in there and hope they don't screw it up as well.

Mandate?! As if the "EVIL W" didn't run up the deficit enough, already?! Oh, that's right....if all those greedy, rich, bastards had been paying their fair share, there would be no deficit today!

Let that be a lesson to me!

Could we table the vitriol until the inauguration? Or at least until we see what the price of oil closes at tomorrow.

None of the really big problems, two wars, financial crisis, or even the world series fiasco is going to get resolved in a year.

Agreed. It took us a long time to get into these messes, and it'll take a lot longer to get us out again. And yes, both sides are to blame, and both sides will need to be part of the solution.

But there was no vitriol there. Some of us have been waiting for this for 8 years, so actually it was a rather restrained response. It's merely the pendulum swinging the other way, for a while.

The "pendulum" swung the "other way" TWO YEARS ago, now! AND the fake conservative "The EVIL W" did nothing to balance it.

TRY and have a nice day!

Obama won 52% of the vote. Bush won 51% in 2004. In my book neither one of those is a mandate. The electoral college distorts the numbers has probably outlived its usefulness in this country. I'd actually be in favor of elimiating it entirely. BTW, that means GORE would have won in 2000.

Either way 52% isn't much of a mandate.

I'm glad this whole thing is finally over, I've got to go ride to work now.

AMEN BROTHER ! Regardless of the outcome, all the political ads and robo-calls will stop. I have to wonder what the media is going to do to fill time on the air now.

Look at that good part: "24" is about to start a new season (unless there is another writers strike.) Maybe Jack Bauer can save us from ourselves again.

Another good thing: When we get our next economic stimulus check I can go put a downpayment on a new RT

Nelson, Nelson, Nelson. Did you read the title of the thread? And then the definition in the 1st post? Like it or not, bastard is the word(Webster says so) that describes a child born to parents who are not married. The word gets thrown around a lot, used incorrectly in lots of cases. The facts, as I have seen them, are that Obama's parents were not married when he was conceived or delivered. If the shoe fits...

And so far as getting behind Obama, he was duly elected to the Office of the PotUS. What else is there to do but get behind him?

Neither of the two political gangs wants to do away with the electoral votes. Doing so would make it a nation wide campaign. State by state campaigns allows concentrating their lies to concentrated voting blocks, like concentrating pork and earmarks to concentrated voting blocks.

Ask your Congress person to level fund pork and earmarks to 2000 levels.

and that bugs me a lot because I feel that my vote does not count as it is bundled with that of others who vote differently. This is a legacy from the British system and should be removed from a modern America that has a much larger population with varied density among its states. JM2CW
