Wink Re: McCain or Obama?

I was wondering why the three motorcycle polls are so heavy in favor of McCain/Palin, but the national polls seem to be the opposite. Then it hit me.

Re: McCain or Obama?

I think it has a lot to do with socialism vs. capitalism. Many of the young are socialist through college with limited assets and income. As items are acquired and income increases a move toward capitalism occurs. Strange how it is easy to give away what you don't earn and decide where others money should go!

Two books I always recommend to the young are Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand and How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

Guess I'm voting for McCain as he is less a socialist than Obama. Sort of the cream of the crap.

I did that a couple days ago. Not that I thought it would have any affect on anything, but at least I now have the right to complain if things don't get any better, or as is likely if Obama wins, get worse. Don't vote, don't complain.

I also feel Obama's party is VERY socialistic. That has been tried for many decades, did not/will not work.

Re: McCain or Obama?

Some people muse that the objective of our government is to take from as many as possible to give to a few (who can re-elect those diverting the funds?).

Wouldn't a shift to socialism skew the funds to the many instead of a few? Aide to all Americans before foreign aide? Aide to all Americans before bridges to No Where? Aide to all Americans before building the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Aide to all Americans before subsidizing home purchases through interest deductions? Aide to all Americans before subsidizing building homes in flood and hurricane zones? Aide to all Americans before subsidizing people with children via tax deductions?

Angry Re: McCain or Obama?

Socialism as practiced by countries in the past only created a much larger base of people with little drive to be part of the upper group that is being tasked with supporting them. Then that group starts to revolt, and of course there are always the few at the top who are grabbing everything they can.

Creating a predominate welfare state only greatly increases the number of those with their hands out expecting them to be filled. We already have far too many of those.

We are already well into it, with a huge non-taxpaying populace, and an illegal immigration percentage that probably no other nation on earth would stand for.

I grew up loving the US and everything it stood for. Unfortunately, this country is starting to suck like many others. Seemingly no way to ever get it back.

I always thought protectionism was a bad thing, but I am starting to think that is the only hope left. Kick out anyone illegally here, put the brakes on Chinese imports that are artificially cheap because the government of China makes it that way to forge their way into a high percentage ownership of the US.

Contrary to statements by idiots, there is no work here that "US citizens won't do", just that they won't do it for the same wage of someone who has no tax burden, does not pay into the unemployment pool, nor in many cases have to pay automobile insurance or health insurance even though they drive and get health care when needed, for free.

Somehow we need to even the playing field, but we have already sold out a huge portion of our manufacturing base, and it will not come back.

The bailout bill we are now saddled with is proving to be an uncontrolled fiasco, with the dunces that caused the whole mess probably coming out of it with big bonuses paid out of the bailout fund!

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work...I want to achieve it through not dying.

Has anyone noticed the amount of Chinese goods and food that are making people there and here, sick? Milk and eggs tainted with something that made poeple die in China. Toys imported here, covered in lead-based paint. To the Communists, their own people are expendable. Why would we be any different? We demanded cheap products. The Chinese, Indians(from India), and every other 2-bit dictatorship will make those items. I doubt the workers who made the products will see much of the profits. At least in the good ole USofA, workers are rewarded with raises, bonuses, etc. when the company does well. And some in power here say profits are a bad thing. Without profits, none of us would have a job, GovCo wouldn't have anything to collect, and we'd get hungry FAST!

I heard a rumor that India is a democracy, recovering from the lack of free markets.

I check anything that goes into my body, even tooth past, to make sure its not from China.

Michael Jackson for President

Whether or not Hussein Obama is elected American president, the fact of him coming close to it is disturbing.

Re: McCain or Obama?

If we get Obama, it's because we have brought it on ourselves. Maybe we deserve him. If we've become a better nation than we were 50 years ago, I don't see it. We've done a downhill slide while all the time saying we are soaring like an eagle.
Americans are sick of our government and the way they operate. It's a joke and has been for a LONG time. There is no justice and no common sense to be seen in government. The fools we have in charge now are gonna make the antiChrist look pretty darn good....................

Dave, that was a real cheap shot! Completely unnecessary and insensitive. You're gonna hurt someone's one, big, over-sensitive feeling with that kind of talk. If "THE Messiah" gets wind of that, he's gonna tax your rich ass so poor people can have BMW M/C's, also.

Dan, with "less socialist," you're really splitting hairs! I've never seen such a huge socialist, claiming to be a maverick, in my entire life!

Yes, silly wasteful social engineering via the tax code! What a perfect time for a real maverick to push for a complete elimination of the tax code and all the foolishness it represents AND all the worthless hacks it supports!

Let's take it even further: what is the moral message it sends? If you're a good-time, rock-and-roll, phoney baloney, plastic banana, fake, greedy, bastard, you not only have NO RESPOSIBILITY for fraud, you are REWARDED for it! Numerous, numerous worthless hacks, right up to PODUS, are validating this criminal activity as perfectly ok! It's the exact opposite of what I am TRYING to teach my 6 y/o boy, everyday.

How about one of these worthless hacks, suggest some consequences for all this fraud and incompetence, instead of just being rewarded for it?

You're talking about the Walmartization of Amerika, Lee. We could have continued buying our products from the corner hardware store, where you got good products and great service. But, we wanted things CHEAP! Who gives a shit and quality and service?

Well, now we get exactly what we deserve--shit kommy products and unemployment! AND, to add insult to injury, if you want top quality products, you're now a "high-end" buyer. A "high maintenance" customer (aka: pain in the ass), a filthy rich dude! So you have to drive twice as far and pay twice as much as before the kommy store came to town!

Have a nice M/F'G day.

Not exactly. We get what the lowest common denominator deserves. I've been on roads posted as 35 mph that were easily safe enough for most competent folks to drive at 45 or even 55 mph. But all it takes is one idiot to crash, and suddenly the road is "dangerous" and we all must be "protected" from ourselves. And we've all seen the stupid tags on blow dryers that say "do not use in the tub or shower" or on coffee cups that say "caution - product may be hot" as if we weren't smart enough to figure it out on our own. So we end up with rules and limits designed for the incompetent, not the general public. or maybe those two things really are the same, and we're all doomed.

Have a nice day.

That whole "under sized" part is WTMI , BUT, if he had ANY BALLS, there would not be any need to preside "over dem" until sentencing! Next time we play war, can we FINALLY kill people and break things?

Re: McCain or Obama?

Problem is, the American version of Socialism isn't really socialism. Their credo, "Equal opportunity for all, special privileges for me!"

True socialism is based on administrators who believe they are no better than those they serve and who hold an altruistic view of their role regarding their fellows. Due to human nature being what it is, socialism can't survive and degrades to oppression.

Capitalism requires honor as well. That is why America is neither, but is a representative republic. The only problem is apathy and lack of personal responsibility guts the checks and balances. Go figure!
