I have to believe that the guy doing the wheelie was only doing that because he saw the real idiot crashing the light and he was trying to accelerate out of harm's way. Unfortunately, he didn't make it.

Re: 2 bike crash. idiots!

whoa... I hope they came through without serious injury!

Looks like when a light changes to "green" you have the approval to proceed "when safe"...

It might be interesting to know the "time in the saddle" for these two.

There was no swerving or significant action taken... unles you consider a wheelie in that situation appropriate.

Re: 2 bike crash. idiots!

The one rider's view was blocked my the auto he was next to.

If the speeder was on a two direction road, the other rider could probably have stopped in time.

It might be that since they hit each other, and didn't go over their bikes, they might have been spared some injury?

Gota be a wake up moment for the speeder running thru the red lite and the victim.

Good reminder of the danger of one way multiple lane roads?

I don't think so. His wheelie started before he's even left the crosswalk zone. If he'd accelerated normally, or perhaps even looked both ways, he could easily have stopped in time.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: 2 bike crash. idiots!

Just shows how extremely important it is to look both ways, even when you have the green light.
Back in the 60's (1960's!!) I was at a light (on my Honda CB 160, eat your heart out). The light changed to green for me. A Semi going from my right to left stopped in what was his passing lane. I started to go, but something just didn't "feel" right. (Yes, I'm using the "feel" word again.) I stopped in front of the semi to make sure there was no traffic coming on his other side. No sooner had I done so, than a Corvette ran that light from the other side of the Semi at about 40 MPH. I would have been a goner, even though I had the green light.
What made me stop? I have no idea, folks, but it saved my life (and my beautiful blue, CB 160.) You just cannot ever take anything for granted out there.

Re: 2 bike crash. idiots!

But did you see the other 2 guys that witnessed the accident? "Erm, do we stop or just keep going" After several moments one of them looked like they might have pulled over.

Yes, Mr Wheelie had plenty of time to look both ways and stop. He was just to busy popping a boner--er--wheelie.

Damn, Greg! Now I understand why your one big feeling is so finely honed!
