'Tis the season ... I can hear them, can you?

All around my house, the sound of guns firing at those freakin' horned rats! They can't shoot enough of em, if you ask me. And then I usually get that periodic visit from one of my buds handing me a big ol bag of venison jerky! Yea baby! Nothing like it!!!

Joe, I hate to busrt your bubble but gun deer season in Ohio does'nt open til Dec. 1. You're probably hearing guys shooting those flying manure spreaders better known as geese. The only thing open in Ohio right now is small game and ducks and geese ---- Sorry about that---- guess you have to wait a little more than month to start your dance. But I will do my part starting the 15th of Nov. here in Mich.

Not all, got to save some for seed. Got to have some around for venison jerky.

Anybody wanting to thin the herd around here, PM me and I'll put you on a tee stand in my back yard. Typically see a dozen or more daily.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Well now...actually you're right. But what caused my confusion is that bow season for deer is currently open in Ohio. My buddy got his first one a few days ago. Just got off the phone with him and he says he'll have some jerky for me in a few weeks. Let the dancing continue!

Re: 'Tis the season ... I can hear them, can you?

What is it about Texans that they always want to kill something? If it is not deer, then it is Muslims, Mexicans, Liberals, or Blacks. I noticed in the news that a Negro was brutally dragged to death in Texas recently. He was dragged for over two miles and they found parts of his body scattered for that distance along a country road.

I suspect that the only species that is over populated to the point that they are destroying their environment is the human race. Perhaps we need a major war of mass destruction. Remember, the moral integrity of a nation can be judged by the way the treat animals.

Over-populated? Since you are stereotyping, don't stop at the Muz's and Liberals, let's get the Mormon's too

Oh, we treat the animals well, nothing like a good venison stew, a good moist turkey with all the trimmings, a good prime rib, and a good ole' piece of fried chicken

Re: 'Tis the season ... I can hear them, can you?

I am reminded of some lyrics from Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie:

And I went up there, I said, "Shrink, I want to kill. I mean, I wanna, I
wanna kill. Kill. I wanna, I wanna see, I wanna see blood and gore and
guts and veins in my teeth. Eat dead burnt bodies. I mean kill, Kill,
KILL, KILL." And I started jumpin up and down yelling, "KILL, KILL," and
he started jumpin up and down with me and we was both jumping up and down
yelling, "KILL, KILL." And the sargent came over, pinned a medal on me,
sent me down the hall, said, "You're our boy."

"What is it about Texans that they always want to kill something?"
What's yer question?

"I noticed in the news that a Negro was brutally dragged to death in Texas recently."
Sorry, guess we haven't figured out a way to drag someone two miles behind our trucks leaving body parts along the way and not have it be brutal...but it looks like they are working on it, so keep reading your ten year old papers. Practice practice practice don't ya know.

"I suspect that the only species that is over populated to the point that they are destroying their environment is the human race."
You try telling that to the farmers in the mid-west, how the deer are not over populated to the point of destroying their environment and see how warm a reception you get from them...you think Texans are the only ones who want to kill something...you better be running right after you make your claim.

"Perhaps we need a major war of mass destruction."
Make up your mind...is it just us Texans or is Utah gonna play in this game too?

"Remember, the moral integrity of a nation can be judged by the way the treat animals."
Hmmm...you sure that's the saying? I thought it was by the way we treat criminals in our prisons?

Any other comments you would like to add? No...Good...Now, leave me alone for awhile...I have to clean my guns and I HATE to be disturbed.

Which in turn reminds me about the 'Group W' bench - with mother rapers and father stabbers - and father rapers. Then one of the best counterculture lines of the song: "I'm sittin here on the Group W bench 'cause you want to know if I'm moral enough to join the army, burn women, kids, houses and villages after bein' a litterbug?"

My 11-yr-old daughter is fascinated with animals and nature. She observed long ago 'the circle of life', and how things are supposed to work. Like the day we threw a tree frog into her pet snake's tank. Wow! That was too cool. It took that snake all of 2 minutes to make that frog go bye-bye.

Dinner!
