If crude is now < $80/barrel, why isn't gas half the cost it was when crude was $140/barrel?

Three cheers for the lower gas prices we're seeing. Let's hope it keeps on dropping.

Maybe it has to do with ethanol. The price of corn is raising the gas price now

Running $3.37 locally here in SoCal, and anywhere between $3.69 - $4.59 out on the road. Yes, that's almost a full dollar difference, depending how far you are from the Interstate.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: Under $3/gal in northeast Ohio this morning!

Dropped almost .20 over the weekend, regular is down to 3.29 a gal. Of course my commuter car takes the good stuff @ 3.54 so it's goiing to be awhile before I see sub $3.00.

Re: Under $3/gal in northeast Ohio this morning!

Well, the oil companies have accomplished their task. Remember just a short time ago when we thought $3/gallon was robbery? I think the oil companies got together and raised it to well over $4/gallon just so they could then drop it to a little over $3 (where they wanted it in the first place) and everyone would be happy.

Bingo! I couldn't even believe my own "gladness" when I saw the $2.99 sign. But it sure beats $4.06!

Re: Under $3/gal in northeast Ohio this morning!

Got everybody beat. Got it for 2.43 and saw it later for 2.41

That was Friday. Bet it's even cheaper today..One of the few good things about living in Oklahoma.

It needs to get down to at least a dollar again.. I could live with that and they'd still make a a$$load of money..

I remember when I was a kid it was 22.9 Cents a gallon.

If you cut 'n paste your local city into this website you can search by specific area, brand or check the map as well. I hit 3 out of four with San Francisco not responding.

They have us just where they want us, thinking anything under $3/gal is cheap. It should be under $2/gal. The stock market will rebound and the speculators will have it jacked up again very soon.

$2.50 per gallon this morning in San Antonio, Tejas - a Costco station, I think.

Bingo. They've already won, and we're playing the role of abused spouse who's happy because they didn't get hit quite as hard this week.
