In a few years I will retire to the Phillipines!

Yes,

I have been fortunate to have done some good bargains where as I got out before the bubble burst and are now enjoying the consequenses of a certains leaders deeds

Having no debt and values close to a million US, I think I can afford to move down to the PI and live the life of a "do as I want when I want" dude hehe

First I will get my fair share of health care with the two operations as I mentioned earlier and then when all done I will go down to Dumaguete in Negros Oriental.

Maybe have some export business as a hobby or who knows maybe do some flying. Or developt some of my patents into businesses.

Now the expats are trying to form a riding club down there but there is very few big bikes and an LT would be out of the question down there with its tropical conditions and poor roads so I will then be looking for some off road beemer or something.

And of course you will change your name to Pablo.
Good luck with your retirement plan, it sounds good.
Perhaps a GS is what you will need to travel the roads with that tropical weather and all the mud.

Re: In a few years I will retire to the Phillipines!

Sounds like fun. Hopefully someday I will get to retire and just ride wherever, whenever I want.

You sure you don't want to invest that money in a good business. I know of one looking for some cash

You may want to consider Boquete, Panama instead.

http://www.escapetoboquete.com/

It's on my short list. Due to the altitude it is QUITE a bit cooler. Will keep your sardines fresh.

Ron,
Interesting. I particularity like this part that I found in the FAQ's:
Is it Politically stable?

Since Noriega’s removal from power in the late 1980’s (he now resides in Homestead, Florida, courtesy of the US government) Panama has flourished democratically.

Well I was thinking of a "Norwegian room" meaning that it should bemore like a walk in refigirator where I could get some Norwegian winter weather if I feel homesick hehe

But close to Dumaguete there is a small city called Valencia and that city is at an alltitude of 300 meters + and above Duma which gives it an average 5 degree celsius colder temperature and that Sir would be perfct for me....and I would also get more rain due to thermo effect of CB`s etc also a thing of my home country.

The expat envioroment have lots of people from the US, europe and asia so there should be a nice community there to do different stuff and it would give lots of good new friends I can tag along with for a home turf visit in different parts of the world.

Phillipines is just in the heart for a visit to the US (CCR) or "Aussieland" among some.

It does sound more and more as a very good destination AND english is one of the 3 official languages.

But I will of course do an effort to learn the local spoken landguage wich here is Cebuano or Visayas.

That's a relief!

So what about health care. I doubt they have the free health care you are accustomed to. I do know there are many good Filipino doctors, this area is full of them!

And if you do come to this country for the CCR or whatever reason, be certain to let me know, I want to meet you in person.

Re: In a few years I will retire to the Phillipines!

I will pay 17% tax on any possible Norwegian income (yeah they charge tax on interest that I may earn) and thus I am still in the Norwegian welfare system and If I need some medical attention I can go home and still get it for free.

But yes I will buy additional medical insurance whish is about 100 dollars a month in the PI.

Silliman Univercity (US) bapthist is among the top 4 Univercities in the PI and they have an exelent healt care Uni, teaching future doctors and nurses and Silliman is in Dumaguete.

And just for that "cheer" I think I will have to endure some pain and get them to harvest some sperm so I can becoime a parent and breed some paalao`s hehe

I am sure JJ can offer some guidence in that!

Not trying to pick nits with you, but Silliman University was founded the Presbyterians not the Baptists! Not that that matters---- except I am a Presbyterian. How ironic!

Sure I know how to use a spell checker, but as you all know by now, I seldom bother.

I figure most of you understand what I am saying anyway so instead of using more time in the communication of every message I just go with it.

Coop,

Same thing is it not? Baptist, Pr.... I am not even gona try spell that.

best regards
Pablo

PS! I do not plan to start using a spell checker in the near future.

Touché, Norris. But I'm afraid that to most Americans, they probably are.

Now I was gonna post a couple pics comparing Norwegian girls to Swedish girls, but none of the pics I found are appropriate for this site. So you'll just have to do your own searching.

I am going to Duma next summer. My brother has a house down there so I am going there to visit.

The move will not happen for some time. My parents is still clinging on to life and I cant leave them for more then a month or two at the time. (Being a good son as always)

If I get any, the earliest time would be 17 years from now. (Norway plan on making voting age 16)

You are definately on my list of whom to visit.
maybe we could have others to meet there aswell. No guns alowed though hehe.

Morley a long bike ride and me a long flight ride, relaxing with a cold beer, No Guinnes though, never liked that stuff. I`ll go with a Coors Light thanks. Or the best beer you have wich is Miller Genuine Draft from a bottle, or was when I was there.

Seriously a CCR in California would be sweet. Say in 2010!
Having been in 40 US states, I have yet to visit the east coast states.
