VW AG building plant here in Chattanooga

This is big news for us here in the Tri-State area.

VW AG will be building a manufacturing facility here in Chattanooga with hopes to be in production around 2011, according to their CEO (Stefan???).

Not sure of which models they will be building. Approximate job increase of 2000, not including feeder companies.

I have witnessed the manufacturing sector decay for 25 years here, and for someone who relies on Industry (Manufacturing and Logistics) for a living, this is a good morale boost for all.

Never had a Bug or VW, may have to try one one of these days!

You are now returned to your regularly scheduled program

I wonder where they are going to get a skilled workforce. the powers that be drove out most manufacturing years ago. Now, if they want to make carpet or wood floors, there is always Dalton, GA. close by.

Growing up here, I can understand where you are coming from! The unskilled labor force has taken over in Dalton, Ga, and not one of them can speak any English!

I believe we have enough folks here to fill the Plant
