Is your son-in-law as dumb as mine?
My daughter tells me that her husband wants to buy a motorcycle to help deal with the high gas prices. So, being his first bike, I suggest he first take a riding course, then perhaps get a duel sport bike like an F650GS.
Next, daughter calls saying they are coming to visit over the 4th of July weekend. Her husband will be riding his new motorcycle up from Albuquerque to Colorado Springs.
Oh? What kind of bike did he get?....Daughter says she thinks it's called a Ninja...not sure.
Did he take a riding course? No, not yet.
They show up the next day. He on a 2008 600 Ninja. A little sore from the long ride up here.
Ok, time for them to head back to Albuquerque. Can they borrow my trailer?
Son-In-Law thinks it may rain, and isn't looking forward to another long ride.
No problem, take the trailer. Son-In Law tries to tie down his bike on trailer.
I tell him it's all wrong and bike will fall. Does he listen? No...of course not.
So, I siggest he first pull the trailer with bike around the block to see how it rides. Ok. He comes back from around the block. Bike is on it's side, lucky it didn't come off the trailer.
I print out instructions for securing bike to trailer. Hand them to son-in-law, go back in house.
Get a call...they made it back home safe and sound.
As dumb as he is, I sure hope he takes a riding course, and doesn't hurt himself on that thing.
Oh, he's a nice, well educated young man, works hard, and overall a good husband and father. Just doesn't quite get that his father and I might know a thing or two, that he doesn't know just yet.
