My yacht broker called while I was out...

... and he found a nice little runabout for me and the missus so we can arrive at the dock in style for din-din.

http://www.silvestris-aquamotive.com

I have no idea what the price tag is for this bad boy, at 23 feet of aluminum clad space frame and only 560 HP I may have some sucking up to do. Like they always say, if you need to ask the price you probably can't afford it.

A LEATHER interior - but don't worry about it getting damaged: at the press of (remote) button 2 lids flip up to keep the sun and prying eyes off of it.

At the current gas prices I am SURE this is a very smart investment.

Oh, well, it's slightly out of my price range anyhow.

That "Yanni" music tells me this puppy is at least $400K - $500K. Very trick and very exclusive.

Re: My yacht broker called while I was out...

Oh well, the missus and I took a ride in the Silvestris - and while it IS rather stylish we thought it was a bit confining and decided to go old school instead. Don't you know, dahlings.

Peter Freebody whipped this up from scratch in 2004. Jessica, a slipper, was painstakingly crafted from mahogany, teak, Colombian pine and obeche. The hull sides are made each from one complete board of African mahogany. Wait until the gang at the club gets a load of this one... Martinis on board anyone?

While not quite as fast there is a rather certain panache to wood - and at only $210,000K we can now afford to buy that cute little Robinson helicopter Buffy had her eye on, color matched to our yacht.

So many toys, so little time!

I love a wooden boat, but that yearly maintenance is a PAIN.

Fiberglass is so much easier....

Awwww -c'mon Steve...

In just the last week I :

1. Bought 1,000 square feet of PET (recycled pop and ketchup bottle) carpet to re-do my media, living room and master bedroom. Really nice stuff and it has a very low indoor emissions profile to boot.

2. Purchased two solar powered battery chargers to maintain my truck batteries when not in use.

3. Downloaded FREE plans and a FREE book:

http://www.motherearthnews.com/Do-It...er.aspx?page=2

to home build an Integral Passive Solar Water Heater which will be mounted on my roof. Basically a hot water heater liner painted flat black inside an insulated box (I'm using a double walled Endurance plastic grave liner for mine)

http://www.burialitems.com/polyethyleneburialvault.html

with glazing on top. Cold water in - hot water out! (for free!!)

4. I've had to put my 115 MPG BMW Vergasser away for the summer. Bummer.

I figure between all that I'll get enough carbon trading credits (coming soon to a Congress near you whether you like it or not) to burn LOTS of gasoline!

Besides that I just bought a ****load of refinery stocks to support my bad habits. Now that's what I call HEDGING!

Dang, gotta go - Al's on the other line!
