YouRememberThat.com

I found this website the other day. Enjoy.

I remember getting one of these in the early sixties. None of my friends lost an eye either.

Great site !!

Did a search of my most missed big boy toy of my youth .... NADA

No clue who made it, but circa late 60's thay made an AIR PULSE PISTOL that looked like it had 2 funnels butted together, a pump lever on the back of the frame. It shot a STRONG pulse of air from it that would knock over stuff from across the room. Tape on a wrapping paper tube and shoot ping pong balls.

Likely reason it was pulled from the market in the day

I think it was made by Wham-o. I had one until my Mom got so tired of it and the noise it made she threw it out.

I had one of those Mattel shootin shell six shooter pistols. A friend had the rifle. We used to shoot those things are each other all the time. The problem I had was about half the shells would go off at once in the cylinder. And the rifle had better range than my pistol.

I had a bazooka looking thing called The Sonic Blaster. Pump it up, pull the trigger, and it sent a shock wave that would rattle windows 100 ft away. Sounded like a bomb going off. Damn thing was yanked off the shelves as soon as the reports of little brothers with blown out ear drums started rolling in.

That is Kurt Russell in the Sonic Blaster commercial. I liked Saturday morning TV. You had Sky King with Penny and Fury, the story of a horse and a boy who loved him. Don't forget the Ovaltine decoder ring.

Ride 'em if you got 'em.

Thats a YOUNG Curt Russell for sure !!

Yea, same idea, an air pulse generated by pumping it up ... But mine was a pistol. Blue & Red if my feeble memory of 40+ years ago is right ?

Damn that gun was FUN !!!!

Too bad that political correctness has ruined all the fun! IMHO, those were much better toys than all the video games of today.

Friends of mine (nameless for now!) had one of those thangs. Used it to train a coupla dogs when they got too active. Pups couldn't figger out where the 'concussion' originated, and were so puzzled, they got less active right away. Wuzn't ameanal cruelty - just made less mess than a water pistol!!!

I had no idea what you were refering to until I followed the link, then it came back to me. I had completely forgotten about that thing. As a kid in Davenport, Iowa my buddy Randy Mooney had one of those. That kid had everything. An only child.
