Thumbs down Pulled a GSXR off of a sign post yesterday

On the way home from work yesterday I pulled up to a 4 way at the same time as a kid on a GSXR. He turned left going the same direction as I was. He pulls the front end off and headed into the tight right hander a little hot, panicked, locked them up and went down sliding across the opposing lane of traffic and off the opposite side of the road. He got away from the bike just before it wrapped itself around a sign post. I stopped to help and of course he was nervous, embarrassed and full of adrenaline so I had to calm him down to make sure he was alright. He had a mesh jacket, full face helmet, and some of that underwear armor on so he was OK. The gear was scraped up a bit so it did it's job.Not sayin but just sayin 3 Harley's went by and none stopped to help us pull his bike off the pole. Believe it or not we were able to strip all the busted plastic and lights off then bungeed the remaining mess together and he was able to slowly ride it home. Lucky there was no traffic in that opposing lane as his day would have been much worse.

It takes all kinds of people. Maybe someday he will grow up a bit and stop showing off.
Good on you for helping him.

Re: Pulled a GSXR off of a sign post yesterday

I've helped Harley riders, metric-cruiser riders, BMW riders, and sportbike riders after a crash. Yea...it happens to ALL riders (not just "sportbike riding squids"!). OK, sure it sounds like this kid was being an idiot. But I've been an idiot too. Perhaps this is just what the Doctor ordered for this rider. Good job looking out for him.

In a different incident, son had a 2x4 jam up between his frame and rear tire. Knew he was goin down, so picked a soft spot. The ones who stopped for him were HD riders. About 20 of 'em. Before they got there, he counted 5 Wings, 6 misc others. He was fine, no permanent damage to bike, either.
