"Outlaw Country" explained by D.A.C.

I don't know how long this link will last... or if it's worth hearing, but here's the word on how "Outlaw Country Music" got it's name.. according to David Allan Coe

I'm sure that's how David remembers it.

We opened for him several times at the Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa. The band I was in was The Turkey Mountain Troubadours. At that time the hottest country band in Tulsa.

We were on our third or fourth encore and he came up and started pounding his fist on the stage telling us to get off. We were all friends and he was just acting up. He'd say "Goddam, you boys gonna play all nite?"

He's the definition of strange though. We were all pretty scary back in those days though.
