All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Ken, I guess you've been around here longer than I thought!!!

That was a great picture that took quite a while to get all the logistics in place, and a fresh asphalt lot is NOT that easy to find!!!

Yep, I remember when we were just a paltry little plain text list server. Then came eGroups, which was swallowed up by Yahoo with those stupid pop-up ads. Then the dedicated servers and software, to get to the awesome community that we have today. And unlike some folks, it's actually taken me 7 or 8 years to get to 10K posts.

And yes, Sir Squidley was quite a character. Ex road-racer IIRC. It took him many tries to get that shot but he did pull out of it, although he said that at that point he was probably riding more on the crash bars than the rear tire.

Do any of the old timers remember Pep?

Yeppir, I do. Last I heard, he bought a BAT (Beeg A$$ Truck) and settled out in West Tejas somewhere. He still had his Pacific Blue LT then, butt IIRC, had put a tweaked K-engine in with help from a wrenching buddy. His Mom lives/lived in San Antonio, and although the invite wuz out, he never pinged me when in the 'hood. I'm not sure if he stayed working contract for FEMA or not.

I'll never forgit that photo of he and John Menefee, both baldies, posed with their noggins as butt cheeks, with Grif in the middle as the a..hole!! Classic!!

I don't know, but I bet he's doing it fast. I still can't believe how how he managed to peel about 80 lbs off his LT, and how he used to just thrash that sucker. Think he's discovered the GT yet?

Pep sure had his moments, and would probably surprise even some of the more, um, "colorful" characters we have around here these days. But I'll never forget seeing his Ground Zero photos immediately after 9/11, while things were literally still smoking. That was almost indescribable.

Talking Re: I Got Yer Lean Angle Right Here, Pal

Yep Ken, we remember Pep! And as I recall the reason he had the ground zero photos was because he worked for FEMA. I also recall him posting that he was leaving FEMA shortly before he quit posting on the site.

Some of us who don't post as much as others have certainly been lurking around for a long time. E-Groups was the provider when I first started reading up on my then future purchase! Then we survived the Yahoo Pop-ups until Andy came to the rescue with his suggested dedicated server we now enjoy.

Tks Andy for taking the plunge way back when even though there were plenty of doubters!
