Lost my Mojo!!!!!!

I am practing for the up coming rode. I have never crash/dropped my motor like this in the last 10 years. I think I lost the touch. I got a scrap on the elbow, and my foot. I have never seen the body turn skin that color purple an I am limping. And if anyone says anything i trip over the dog. Am I getting to old, losing it, different bike, surface, I can keep going, all i know is I saw the sky today........ WTF????????????????????

Re: Lost my Mojo!!!!!!

Yeah, what Joe said!!

Seriously, after 10 years of being damn near perfect in on duty riding, training, competition, etc., you don't think you had beaten the odds a little bit? Considering the risks, environment, number of hours and such you spend on a bike and you went down for the first time today, that's a pretty amazing record! Hell, I've been down more times than that in the last 10 years and I bet I don't have 5% of the saddle time you do! You had a bad day (bad moment is more like it); you're still a great rider!

Re: Lost my Mojo!!!!!!

John I just watched ride like a pro and I plan on brushing up on my riding skills once the weather allows. I am amazed after watching the video that more people don't drop bikes more often.
10 years is a hell of a long time, I am very impressed.

Re: Lost my Mojo!!!!!!

You haven't lost much of anything except for maybe a bit of overconfidence because you haven't been down in so long. You didn't get too injured; how many times have we seen posts on our fellow riders who went down HARD. It happens; now, try to best your 10 year record. Hell, I'm happy if I get home without dropping it! It wasn't your best day and like they say, some days it's not even worth chewing through the restraints.

Re: Lost my Mojo!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the digger John, did the bike get messed up? Hopefully you can just jump right back on and keep on going - just like falling off a horse. (as long as you can get back up that is...)
Try to figure out what you did wrong, and make it a point to NOT do that again, and then keep on riding!

Re: Lost my Mojo!!!!!!

First, I am not the video motorman that sells the DVD. That is Jerry motorman. I know who he is and have met him, still a good video.

My foot feels a little better today. You see where the crash bar went across the heel and my toes I think the bike landed on it, the little one the guy next to it are purple.

Thanks for the comments and I guess my ego is more bruised then my foot. I know that I never dropped my old 1150 but the 1200 bucked me pretty good. Got to cocky. Tomorrow and Friday are more practice. Puts you in your place when you fall. Respect that motorcycle.

I posted this on another fourm and someone thought I quit my job for falling. Just so I am clear, this fall was for the police motorcycle rodeo on Saturday. It was on the first day of practice. Here is the link to the rodeo. http://www.capitalcitychallenge.com/

Re: Lost my Mojo!!!!!!

Perhaps, John, you did nothing more than learn WHY there are limits such as "ends of the leash"...right? The leash keeps us on the safe side... What I've learned is you must analyze it... but not fear it... That is what makes us different from the "animals".. eh?

You are very correct. I practiced today, before the rain and court, and have slow way down, it seems that I have become smoother. So this fall was the "end of the leash".
