Two deaths two different headlines why??

First one is 15 yoa gang banger is murdered. Which
probably has no other impact to you and me.

Second is motorcycle fatalility which has a more impact to the common person.

or this one,
http://www.tallahassee.com/apps/pbcs...1/BREAKINGNEWS

It just amazes me that more folks die in car crashes then murders. Murders you can trace back to that the victim knew the killer, but when it comes to car crash which has a more impact on "you", the paper gives it just three lines. Is that murder is more news worthy or is that a person that dies in a car crash is more excepted in society, because it happens everyday.

I'm no expert, just guessing here.

Murder is a heinous crime ... whereas an accident is just that, an accident. Accidents are a part of life. Murder is not supposed to be.

I agree and will add that far too many people love the WOW factor. And the media will do what they can to sensationalize anything to make it "WOW". Wow sells...

And therein lies the main problem. It is assumed that an "accident" just happens, with no foresight and usually no specific intent. That there are no perpetrators, and that all involved are victims of forces outside of their control.

Never mind the fact that the guy who made a left-turn just happened to be drunk with a suspended license, or that the rider wasn't wearing a helmet . . .

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Re: Two deaths two different headlines why??

What is "News-Worthy" about an accident? Certainly the loss of life of an innocent person is tragic, but doesn't "play-well" on the 6:00.

BUT, an underprivileged, probably minority, named "Michael Jackson" killed in gangland violence now that's "news we can all use".

Pretty deplorable, from a society point of view, we shouldn’t advertise the "Gang-Banger". Why create more articles for his scrap book? The accident would (should) make people more aware of their actions and perhaps consequence of them……Now where’s the fun in that?? Do we really want to reinforce a society that promotes personal responsibility
