A good day riding is always better than a day you can't......
Even if it's a ride to work.

Sunny and warm in NorCal.

48° = "sunny and warm"? Really?

And no, I don't agree that riding to WORK is better than what I did today. Then again, some guys don't like sleeping with their wives, or sharing a waffle with the woman they adore. Yep! Now I see your point.

For someone in such a good mood, you sure are a little "testy" in your responses. Enjoy your Day Joe.

Finally

After a month of snow, ice and more snow we finally have good weather. Rode 4 of 5 days last week, both days this weekend and this morning.

May have to drive the truck Wed to deliver and old TV to a co-worker who wants to buy it. (Finally upgraded to HD) Other than that I plan to be on the LT every day!

YOU can ride while at work. Problem is only how to get from barge to barge. And then maybe the LT is NOT EXACTLY the right bike for that job.

You mean you don't do the 'English bike wash"?
Soap the bike before a rainy ride out and when you get home, the bike is clean!

So that's what I've been forgetting. The soap.

riding tomorrow..

Looks like it might rain, in the morning but I'll be underwater for a few hours anyway. Something about knowing I'm going to be wet makes it alright. Riding home in the rain ain't that bad either. Seem if I go fast enough, the rain doesn't stick on the helmet faceplate. Just lower the windshield and watch out for drivers with cell phone stuck in their ear.

Ride to work? Not today. It was 7 this morning, and while that's not the show-stopper, today's snow is. White Death is building up as I write this. I'll probably be working from home tomorrow -- not quite as nice as what Joe gets to do (no snow days for the bank) but working from home saves 2 hours of commuting and the cost of that fuel.

I have to admit that when it started snowing at lunch time I was a bit worried. Fortunately the sun peeked out for the afternoon.

If you don't have a law about this in the US, it is worth pressing for one.

It is happening, 1 state at a time. A new law will be in effect in August 08 in California requiring a hands-off device, but not barring phone usage entirely while driving. This is a first step in the right direction.

I think every driver (and rider) who wants to use a cell phone should be hands-free. Get caught holding the cell phone up to your ear while driving = TICKET!

I would agree with that, but I'm troubled by the slippery slope it represents.

In addition to hands-on cell phone usage, there are other things a driver can do to distract his attention away from what he should be doing. We've all seen them: eating, fiddling with radio/CD player, applying makeup, READING A BOOK (or magazine, or business papers, etc.), doing crossword puzzles, smacking the kids in the back seat. (There is a thread on this site that lists all of these activities.)

Do we draw the line at cell phone use?

Sorry for the continued hijack of your thread. To answer your original question, same deal today: Schoolteacher-wife is home again today, and I'm working from home. Let it snow!
