Good video - wake up call

Good post.
For those who think Michael Moore's "Sicko" tells the whole story, watch this video.

"The inherent vice of capitalism is
the unequal sharing of blessings;
the inherent virtue of socialism is
the equal sharing of miseries."
Winston Churchill

Awesome post!
It's really too bad that so many of the "Progressives" on the left just want to copy what Europe and Canada do. Not just in Healthcare as in this example either, but with the way society is run. From being spied on by our own Military Satellites (Click ), to the mollifying effects of Social Welfare on the greater whole of our society (click ) to our insane crime statistics (Click ) To the immigration debacle.
It seems so many have forgotten how and why this country was founded. We should not be trying to copy Europe and Canada, we should be doing things RIGHT (Pun intended). We're basically living in a police state as it is, spending our days working to make money for our "progressive" politicians to take from us to spend on so many things that just don't make sense.
I wonder what it's going to take to get people involved to take ownership of this country back to the people?

P.S. Charlie, that is a GREAT quote!!

Canadian Brain Surgery

Just think, people want to turn health care over to the people that setup great organizations like the DMV and the IRS. Sounds like a great idea!!!

Single payer health

Before one gets too taken with that video (although it is well done) consider the following:

1. What if the Canadian couple were not able to come up with the $28,000.

2. Is this an indictment of single payer systems or merely a call for adequately funding medical care in Canada.

3. The turnaround times mentioned in the video in the US would not work in Wisconsin. I have friends who waited as long as two months for GI surgery.

Finally a single robin doesn't make spring. This is not a study but merely one example.

Ya know.... there's exceptions anywhere, Karl.. Ideally, a "triage" approach is beneficial for all... I think they call it "elective" surgery here...

Then there are times where "exploratory" needs to be done... post-haste.. it saved my life...twice.

I've had to arrange around doctors/availability.. sure... but in a situation such as the video described, letting things go longer and metastasise... well, that's just ...

....WRONG.

I remember medical care pre-Hillary... and improvements have been made... however, working in a corporate or guvamint environment stifles (notice, I am not saying it KILLS it) individual creativity.... We are already thrown into the "batch" of insurance company statistics.... the exception being I have a chance for "escalating" my condition.... is that available in Canukland???

Rise up and take it back. The folks, or let's say the lack of folks, that don't vote is astounding. Those that vote because they like the way the politician looks, sounds, or spouts is wrong.

The way I see it, the problem is politicians. We need to have real people run this country: teachers, cops, plumbers, etc. The professional politician, who happens to be wealthy, has run this country to the ground.

Man, I couldn't agree with you more on this point. America's value system is so far out of whack, it may as well not exist anymore save for studying as an example of how bad it can get.
