Thanks Dick

I somehow caught it by accident. I must be a bad redneck cause I was watching the NASCAR Bush race when during a commercial I surfed over to the Food Network. Looky there...BMWs traveling up the Mississip and folks eating good stuff. I reckon I gotta go get me some of that alligator down in Orleans! I never made it back to the race...Don't tell my dad (bad East Texas redneck!!!).

Yea, Alton is a little off...but he is entertaining. I wish I was on that ride!

Earlier on the show "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" they were making
corndogs with bacon and pimento cheese in them.

When I was a kid, my sis and I did all kinds of experimenting in the kitchen.
We did it just to dare each other to take a bit of the mystery result.

Guess I might just fit into that bubble . . .like to try the pork tips ON the pancakes. After all we have pancakes with sausages on the side and they all get mixed up in the gizzard anyway.{ AND B4 I get corrected I know that mammals and esp. humans don't have gizzards!!)

We get it a few hours later here on the left coast. When I first read these posts I wasn't sure. But now after watching the episode, hummm... that spaghetti and catfish looks good.

I thought so the first time I watched "Good Eats", but now I watch all of them. Sometimes the "entertainment" portion gets a little crazy, and he tends to be a little frenetic, but overall not only entertaining, but I learn a LOT! He is actually one smart cookie. Certainly different from any of the other cooking shows, but I love learning the history and science behind this stuff.

Who else can do a half hour show on popcorn, and another on vinegar? I saved his Fried Chicken episode, want to try it.

I recommend "Good Eats" to anyone interested in the mechanics and science of cooking.

I don't miss any of the Feasting on Asphalt shows either. At least as long as my DVR keeps working.

Speaking of super-sized, I hope it's just the protective gear he's got on under his shirt otherwise Alton's developing a severe case of the man boobs! Maybe all that fried food.

I don't watch much TV at all, butt when Cheryl said Alton rides a scoot, I thought I'd check it out cuz you guyz would be talkin' about it and I'd be out in left field. Well now, she's got me watchin' *feasting* and she's workin' on me to watch *Good Eats*. I hate TV, butt both of his shows sure seem interesting and sorta 'homemade'!!! Cheryl sez he is a food scientist and the reason so many *thought to be yucky* recipes show up. Now, I'm hooked.

My fav homegrown sandwich (cuz we wuz poor in the 40s & 50s) wuz two slices of gut-waddin' bread, with peanut butter and grape jelly on one and a slice or two of balogna and mustard on the other. Slap 'em both together and pass the chiffon napkins!!!! Doubt you'll see that on Alton's show!

ok, that's the funniest post this weekend.

I didn't notice the manmammaries, but I did say to myself "Geeze, the guy's on a $19,000+ bike, wearing $1,500+ in gear, a $700 helmet...but his sunglasses went out of style fifteen years ago...

Pete "taking potshots because the guy's on tv and he ain't" Van Dyke

I'm still trying to figger out why some shots of his helmet show the Shoei brand and other shots show it duct taped over? Sponsor quibbling, or?? I haven't caught any helmet shots of the entourage; butt they all sure do the ATGATT thang.

I see he is riding a differet bike this season. I also noticed that none of the BMW logos are greyed out either. Iwonder if a deal was cut?

I believe that BMW of Atlanta was a sponsor.

Well, in the promos and the episode I've seen, he's said "BMW" about 569 times, so if he ain't being compensated one way or the other, he should be and his agent should be horsewhipped

Now if we can get Oakley and Bally's Fitness to line up for the show...oh that's right Bally's went belly-and-man-boobs-up

Thumbs up

Finally got around to firing up the DVR and watching Episode II last night. Some pretty good stuff alright. In fact, I think Alton was more humorous than ever. The wife and I chuckled numerous times.

For a special treat, go out and buy his cookbook, "I'm Just Here For the FOOD". It makes for a VERY good bathroom reader.

OK, I just caught this on my "new posts" listing...

How appropriate is this (and yes, I am prepared for the "hey, this is a family forum" responses).

When you look at your "new messages," this thread comes up as:

Alton Brown's Feasting on...
Dick

hahahahaha

(OK, juvenile, but I always thought there was something a little light in the BMW shorts about that guy!)
