Now if you can divide the number of site hits by the state population, we can see what percentage of a state visits the site, rather than it being skewed by population size.

Better yet, how about as a % of motorcycle owners? I don't have any idea where you'd get that info.

Hey Jeff, of those 19,329 visitors stats are those individuals or repeat lurkers that visit without signing in and posting? I know many members seem to get chased out with political or personal attacks. I always respected Gerhard aka Kbandit and though I didn't always agree with his positions he came off as polite and intelligent. He has not been back since Oct 06. So I wonder how many are new visitors or old members staying incognito.

A good percentage of those are search engine spyders. The key stat is the time on the site. 14 minutes and 12 pages per visit is pretty good.

My guess is those numbers will probably vary quite a bit along with the seasons especially for the northern states.

Not really. This is pretty much representative of the participation. Even
if you look at the attendance of CCR, it reflects a similar distribution.

And what about us over in here in the home countires I ask? better get another map of the world, Oh I forgot, America is the world! silly me........

All joking apart, it would be cool to see a worlwide distribution of hit on the site.
I know us over here are the smaller user base, but woud be interesting all the same

The UK map lots very similar to the one I did a couple years ago showing the distribution of UK forum members. I was in the process of doing it again but got side tracked with a wedding and honeymoon. Best get my arse into gear and get it done.

Cool Jeff! I imagine this takes a bit crunching - any chance it could be added to the site permananetly and maybe updated weekly or something like that?

How are you determining location? Is it based off member profile or ISP's home address?

Just curious...

I figure I can probably claim at least 1% of those Safari stats. Gotta do something, as most of my hits are being credited as OR, instead of CA.

Cool info Jeff, in a techno-geek kinda way.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

I see you're still trying to teach that which you do not fully understand yourself.

I'd ask for a Wyoming detail - but ya know, looking at a pale yellow square just isn't all that exciting.

But I am encouraged to see we've had about 130 linux users hit! Come on all you Penguinista - wave a flilpper or something!!

I'll see your flipper and raise you a (sun)ray. Been playing with Solaris and ZFS lately. Although I have to admit you wouldn't see that in the visit stats. More in what the server(s) run on.

I've been running linux at home for years, but just went to a mac. I feel like I've let my brethren down. But at work, it's winblows. They're just not enlightened.

When a government takes over a people’s economic life it becomes absolute, and when it has become absolute it destroys the arts, the minds, the liberties and the meaning of the people it governs.
