US Passports!

I'm am not sure about your local Walgreens, but the wife and I had our passport photos taken at Walgreens, we went to the local USPS only to have the dingbat behind the counter tell us that it wasn't the correct size!

Walgreen's cost is $ 8.00 and the USPS is a whopping $ 15.00!

Now, Walgreen's I am sure has taken a few passport photos in their time without incident. So we had to cough up the 15 bucks becasue I wasn't coming back to the USPS!

Went to Walgreen's, they refunded our money. Told them what had happened and they have copies of the registration form SO THEY WILL KNOW THE PROPER SIZING OF THE DURN PHOTO, SO, did the USPS rip us off? Does Walgreens know what they are doing?

And yes, the price is stinking rediculous!

I have had passport photos made at similar type places before without any issues. The passport office has definite guidelines for the photos but there seems to be quite a bit of leeway so it may have been a case of the passport office trying to make up for some of the overtime they are currently paying due to the backlog in passport applications.

Bret,

You better pay the "expidite" fee if you want to see it this year. I put in a routine renewal in February and I got it last week.

I had passport photos taken at the local AAA office for my daughters and myself. Went to a passport office at the back of the USPS and they accepted the pix as they were.

John nice handlebar mustache on Mr Potato Head!

We wont be needing it until next Feb.

It was kinda strange, Walgreens takes thousands of Passport photos and they know what the correct size is. The dingbat at the USPS says it's not the right size! What are you gonna do? It's not like I had all day to mess around for a stupid passport!

If you need a passport real quick I am told that if you leave the country on your current passport then the US embassy abroad can get you one in just 3 days when your old one is stolen!
