Exclamation If your wife says your bike stinks.....

If your wife tells you that your LT stinks. It smells like gas, pay attention!
For weeks (months) my wife has complained about the gas smell of my bike.
I didn't really notice it. Yesterday as I put the bike in the garage, I noticed that gas was leaking. Called Lone Star, Randy said bring it in.

As all you experienced riders know, the quick connects had cracked. Gas milage sure sucks when you are leaking gas, used over half of a tank of gas in less than 90 miles. Riding it back to the dealer with such a gas leak, probably wasn't the smartest thing I've done. But it is fixed now. I don't really understand how the bike ran with such a leak--I was concerned that it would quit before I could get it to the shop. But no problem, but I smelled of gas when I walked into the dealer. They replaced the quick disconnects with plastic ones--metal ones are not yet available?

I was at Lone Star twice. Once after breakfast with the Hill country riders. Rode home, noticed the leak, went back.

You are right, Lone Star is a pleasure to deal with.

Eric.. did Randy say the "metal" QD's are really going to be available/replace the poor plastic ones? I think I heard of that somewhere?

That's why I asked him. I also remembered something about metal ones. All he said was that the metal ones were not available.
