NOGILLS2 in Hospital

I had a call from Ethel today letting me know that Floyd (NOGILLS2) is in the hospital and gravely ill with heart problems. I'm sure they would appreciate your prayers and warm thoughts for Floyd's full recovery.

Joel - I swapped a few emails with FLoyd the other day and he told me he was going in for tests regarding the fluid buildup around his heart, but I haven't heard anything else. Do you have any details or updates on his condition? I'm assuming something is worse than when I last emailed with him.

Update on Floyd's Condition

I just got off the phone with Ethel. Floyd is off the respirator, meds and sedation, and they took the baloon out of his heart. He's awake and talking to family members and care staff and appears to be improving at this point. All really good news! For those who may not know, Floyd was going in for tests for congestive heart failure when he had a heart attack. He's been in critical care for a few days (still is), but is making good strides towards recovery.

Ethel appreciates all the support, thoughts and prayers coming from everyone here in the LT community. She's impressed with and truly appreciates the outpouring of support, and told him he's getting calls from California to New York to Mexico! Their family and church community are also there lending a great deal of support which is helping them immensely.

So that's the latest. Keep those positive thoughts and energy flowing his way so he can make a full recovery, he is signed up for CCR you know and we need him there!

Here's a picture of Floyd and me with George Barber at Barber Motorsports Museum from last September. I thought some folks might like to have a face to go with the name. Floyd's on the left.

I returned a call to Ethel today and had a pleasurable shock to hear Floyd's voice answer. We chatted for a couple of minutes. He continues to improve, has been moved out of ICU and is talking to his docs about rehab. He hopes to get his computer in the hospital for the weekend and get on line to say hi.

That is great news! I was planning on calling tomorrow and getting the latest, if I get a chance to actually talk to Floyd, even better! I'm really happy he's improving so well, of course, I never doubted he was a fighter.

Just got off the phone with Floyd, man, it sounded good to hear his voice! He says he's feeling better, and was able to get up and walk arond some yesterday! The rehab seems to be working and it's helping him get better and stronger. He sounds in good spirits and we joked and laughed a bit, which was really goot to hear. He has his laptop now and is reading all the emails, posts and such that he's received. Overall, this all good news, and he's working hard to get better and better! Let's keep that good energy flowing his way!

Well I am not sure where to start, except to say that a heart attack hurts real bad. Fortunatly I didnt have the "BIG ONE"! I have come a long way from the initial report! I am walking and begining rehab. I have a long road ahead but not an impossible one, I do expect to be at CCR still, may have to come in the car, but only if I have to! Anyway, thanks for all your prayers, good thoughts, and other good karma. I expect to be going home early next week, so I will be back online alot more after that. Funny thing is that a hospital is not a place to rest much, you get well, then go home to rest! Thanks again,

Hi Floyd - Glad to hear they're going to send you home next week, that's great! As for CCR, if we have to caravan down to Hammond, steal a car and smuggle you to Missouri, we'll get you there!

Floyd... how great it is to "hear" directly from you. Looking forward to the news that you are home and getting better. Whether you get to CCR by bike, by cage, or by slow moving farm animal, the important thing is that you get there if you can.

Send wishes from here, also. Was in similar condition Aug 27 last year. Found blocked arteries after a minor crash, so, while I was there anyway . . . Hope he has a quick recovery!
