Guess what I got for my birthday

For my birthday a couple of days ago some were asking what I got and if it was another motorcycle. We got 7" of snow so my real present was delayed until yesterday. We have had Airedales for the last dozen years or so and we lost our last one last year. Yesterday we picked up Bo, born on November 15, 2006 - a gorgeous daughter of a couple of champions here in Colorado.

The white on her chest is unusual, but will probably go away as she grows up. Even as a puppy she has a great, calm disposition. Then there is that puppy breath ....

She looks like a sharp one Randy!

I always was interested in Airedales, but every time there was a dog vacancy, along came another German Shepherd. As a matter of fact, we got another rescue GSD on your birthday as well - poor guy is awfully boney for now...

Shepherds are among my favorites as well. Rescuing a dog is a kind gesture as well.

I really think most terriers will outsmart their owners, if only thru their refusial to accept defeat and their boundless energy!

This one has a cute, calm face just to keep you off balance!

Congrats, Randy!. That's one fine looking puppy. So will he be old enough to ride up to the Artic Circle with you?

At 8 months she'll be a little young and when she is old enough she'll be a little big. 'Sides, I don't think Michelle would let her go.

As you know, Airedales make great pet-owner sitters!!! Bro Phil over in GA had Bear as a companion for many years. Bear wuz the smartest dog I've ever been around. I think the only skill he lacked wuz penmanship!

Our last one could turn doorknobs and open doors. In addition to being fairly smart, she was a great companion. She would just sit and watch whatever I was doing. She loved to sit with me and watch with great interest while I worked on the bikes.

Nice looking Dog Randy!

The most fun dog I ever had was a Toy Manchester Terrier, the prettiest was a Sheltie. I have not had a dog for several years now, but would probably go for a Terrier (of some kind) again, for the spirit and fun of them.

The Toy Manchester Terrier looked similar to a Chihuahua, but about 50% larger and a much calmer disposition. Not yappy and nervous like a Chihuahua.

How large do the Airedales get?

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work...I want to achieve it through not dying.

Usually around 60 lbs. They can range from 50 -70lbs. We're hoping this one will be on the smaller side. Her mother a smaller dog (around 50lbs) and the father is average sized.

Our Airdale was named Abbey. Best dog we ever owned. Smarter than any dog I have met yet.

Adorable pup. Congratulations.
