Re: Actually a good idea...

It is called fraud. Not saying it is fair but still fraud and requiring the insurance companies to treat us as the same would not result in the lowering of rates for men but the increase of rates for women. Would you implement your own pay cut? I think not. They would never cut their own salaries or corporate income. $15 an hour for fast food? lets watch how fast those jobs evaporate for a computer screen. But I digress. It is fraud and if it becomes popular, it will adversely affect all of us.

I actually agree with you on all of this. The fact is that we are born either XX or XY and no amount of added hormones or the removal of body parts will change that. I read an article about how a lawyer refused to call a man who says he's a woman, a woman, but the judge said he had to. This is where society has gone.

I could name several things that are controversial regarding if it is a decision or a real abnormality which is controversial in just saying it that way but there is a thing called Klinefelter syndrom where a male actually has an extra X chromosome so instead of 46, he has 47 and is denoted by xxy which should be the only acceptable measurable non correctable instance of a man identifying as a women which I do not want to debate here. Any person who does not have an extra chromosome and identifies as the opposite sex than the physical is questionable. And don't any readers go saying I am against people who claim this either. In this particular instance it is clearly admitted fraud to get a lower rate.

Re: Actually a good idea...

The meaning of this thread is a digital facepalm with how ridiculous things have gotten. My SO is a pediatrician and one of her patients is a 5 y.o. girl who claims she's a boy and so the staff has to label HER as a female(male). Last time I checked, a 5 y.o. can't set their own bedtime but they can determine gender? That meteor can't get here fast enough, LOL.
