how to help with iPod

How does one delete music already loaded to an iPod?

I tried to sync after deleting the music from the library but it still shows up on the iPod.

normally you sync musics from your playlist (on your PC). if that is the case, removing the music form your playlist will remove it from the iPod.
Now if you just sync the whole PC Library, then you have to 'uncheck' the music at the iTunes screen (there is a check mark on the left of each music title).
That should remove the music after the next sync.

You've obviously accomplished the task...but quite frankly, I think that's a lame way to manage an iPod. You can choose to manage the iPod's files manually and not use the sync method. Gives you much more control over what is on and off the iPod. And when you're really ready to micro-manage an iPod, I can email you 'SharePod'. Software that allows you to manage your iPod right from Windows Explorer. It's a GREAT backup tool. That is primarily what I use it for.
