I was told that these recovering soldiers have to pay for their phone calls to back home, so a good idea is to purchase an inexpensive pre paid phone card and stick that in the card you send.

Wounder Warriors

Several friends have spent over a year at (WRAMC) Walter Reed Army Medical Center, after being wounded in Iraq. Sgt. Jeremy Wolfsteller, 3rd ACR, and Lt. Mellisa Stockwell, the first women amputee of OIF. My family has donated money, gifts and time to Operation Second Chance. www.operationsecondchance.org

I have had the honor to personally meet the women who runs the organization on a strictly volunteer basis, Mrs. Cindy McGrew, she works full time, has 4 children and is a saint. She was recently mugged while buying Christmas presents for a wounded solider's children.
Cindy is 5'1" and a ball of fire. She is a fellow Biker and rides her own Harley.

There is not a day that goes by where she is not doing something for our soliders, from raising money and buying need items, to taking these brave men and women to a basketball game, to holding the hand of a solider during the night, who will not see the dawn. If you have a moment, checkout the operationsecondchance website and read the inspiring stories of our warriors, who are giving their best for us.

If your so inclined to donate your time or resources, I have found this organization to be incredibly helpful to our warriors, who now need our help.
