and to celebrate, Dad goes out and finds himself a deer to run into it. Big day at the Messenger household!

Joe, that would be the Equinox BEFORE the crash?

Very Nice! Tell him congrats from me! I see you're enforcing the ATGATT rule at the Paulsey estate. Now, you're going to have to go out ang get him a riding jacket to match the ATV, gloves, helmet and pants. You can't let the boy have a fashion faux pas on his first bike!

All kidding aside, you guys have a great time riding together. He's very lucky to have a dad who takes the time to do things like this with him.

Ah, the highs and lows of parenthood! "Dad, your my hero!" to "Dad, you've killed Bambi!" in less then a day!

Be glad you had a boy. I've gone from hero to zero in less than 20 seconds with my 16 y.o. daughter!

Dvd

Joe did the Dealership give you a dvd for the boy. It is an interactive game with differant levels of trails.
It also goes over pre-ride inspection and the golden rules before it will let you start on the trail
(Pounds it into their head, like writing on the chalk board 100 times.)
They should have it free for the asking if you didn't already get it

My son was with me during the incident. He was just glad we were OK.

My wife and 10-yr-old daughter was 1/4 mile behind us. My daughter saw me hit the deer. Once home she mumbled, "Those deer sure are beautiful . . . but they sure are stupid!". Out of the mouths of babes.

No. We just got some cheesy VHS from Suzuki. The thing's a bad joke. I'll look into the DVD you're talking about at another dealer that I know of.

All ATV manufacturers should offer you a free one-day safety course. Part of the settlement when three-wheelers were discontinued many years ago. Bought my first ATV about 13 years ago and took the course; it was useful.

Perhaps this is offered on new ATVs only and you bought this one used?

Joe, we all know that you purchased it last year, but had to break it in before you gave it to your son.

In all fairness, looks like he's going to have a blast. You did good...
