Road Rage on HD riders

This is a crazy story...

Agreed.

I would also say that cager might be the luckiest person around that day. He might have got his clock cleaned. I saw this on youtube.com last night; darn near had a riot after a police officer pulled out in front of a speeding biker. Not sure what country this is in (from uniforms and language it looks like eastern Europe somewhere). The video is long but interesting. Towards the end you'll see the biker did survive the crash.>

Where's the Hells Angels when you need them.

You ever notice that the SPCA will throw blood on little old ladies wearing fur coats but not on 300 lb bikers wearing leather.

It doesn't make sense that they're not following up on this with charges of attempted assault with a deadly weapon, threatening, reckless driving, endangering the public (not sure of the actual lingo for that one), etc. If someone drives their vehicle towards a police officer in a threatening manner, in almost all cases it's automatic for the officer to be authorized to shoot to kill in self defense. In this case just because the riders were lucky, and the guy wasn't intelligent enough to put his car in park, everything is being forgotten about?
It's occurances such as this one, which show you our justice system is totally out of whack. I wonder if any of them were politically or judicially connected what the charges would have been?
As aggressive as people are being on the road nowadays it's no wonder the accident statistics are on the rise - especially when you know motorvehicle violations are treated like a joke.

I just wonder how many sport bikes have rear and forward facing video cameras. Makes me wonder if this is staged.

Oopps, somehow I posted this to the wrong thread. It was supposed to be posted to the thread where the cop was chasing a guy on a sports bike somewhere in Europe.

Actually, as the equipment gets cheaper and more reliable, it's becoming a lot more common. Some folks even use it on their daily commutes, just in case. Nothing like having video of the idiot who just cut you off and caused a crash. Sure beats "But I didn't see him."

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

The article stated that the bikers "declined" to pursue criminal charges. That's not how it works. The "State" determines whether to pursue charges and the bikers are merely witnesses. The only way the bikers can affect the case is if they "refuse" to testify. If the State wants to continue, the bikers could be compelled to testify with contempt of court procedings. Of course, a District Attorney is reluctant to go to court if he has to "compel" the victims to testify.

Even here in Kalifornia, an individual can use force, even deadly force to protect themselves in self defense. The reality is that the bikers would have been charged with just about every thing in the book......except for shooting the a-hole....and it probably would have a huge PITA.

I believe that if the bikers had not said they preferred to drop the matter, it would have been pursued. This is the type of case that the motorcycle community here in NorCal, which is very large, would have rallied around to make sure the S.O.B. didn't get off easy AND this is the type of case I would like to see the AMA put some pressure on the State over.
