first ride of the year.

If the weather stays warm I will be able to get the bike out for the first ride of the year tomorrow. At only +6 it won't be a long one .... but at least I will have gotten out. Amazing weather for Edmonton in January.

Re: first ride of the year.

So, is this from the garage to the street and back? It's nice here in Southern California, but I can't imagine riding at this time of year in Canada! BTW, I plan on heading up the coast on Monday to either Big Sur or Mendocino….

Re: first ride of the year.

It was about 50 degrees F or 10C here on Saturday. It took about 1/2 hour to push a path with a shovel through the slush on the driveway down to the street but once I made it to the road we were good to go. The highways were clear of ice. The only thing I had to be careful of was the sand and gravel. As long as I squared my corners instead of leaning into them, I was fine. Taking the bike for a ride is a great cure for cabin fever.
