This is a very late response to a question earlier in the year.
Over Christmas we went to the Island ( Vancouver Island )to visit my dad.
We rented a Subaru Outback, with paddle shifters. That was fun.
I wanted to see the ocean so we took a drive up highway 14 towards Jordan River and Port Renfrew.
This is a nice winding road.
At Port Renfrew we decided to try the road to Lake Cowichan. Lo and behold it is well marked and paved all the way, facilitating a round trip to Victoria or Northwards to Nanaimo, Etc Etc
Many 30 and 40 KMH corners and switchbacks, also a good view of the very prevalant Clearcuts on Vancouver Island.
About 150 KM of no centerline.
A very enjoyable loop and highly recomended.
Happy new year and enjoy.
