Oil filter for K1200LT

Just wondering if anyone has bought a Mahle OC91 oil filter in Canada. I have read that this filter is equivalent to the OEM BMW oil filter. I know you can get it for around $10 from the US but add the shipping costs and duty and I may as well pay the $26 to BMW.

Any help is appreciated on a Canadian source for this filter or a good US source that's cost effective.

Thanks, Todd.

Re: Oil filter for K1200LT

Check out these prices especially if you order 6 or 12;

http://www.beemerboneyard.com/oilfiltersetc.html

I have my parts shipped both to my address in Canada and a receiving address in Port Huron, MI.

If you do order you can get a 10% discount if you print "advrider" in the coupon section. It helps pay for the shipping.

Re: Oil filter for K1200LT

Good Morning,

I don't want to start an oil filter thread here or a "who's is better" but I found out that the Bosch filter I have been using on my 2000 LT with more than 60K miles is completely identical to a Purolator #L10241 filter commonly found in every store that carries oil filters. When I looked inside the filter and held them next to each other, the welds, interior stamps and filter media was identical. There are bunches of opinions here but like religion and politics, everyone has their favorite. I saved a bunch of money! And for what I believe is the same quality! That's what matters to me. Here is the link. Good luck.
