Saddle Sore 2500 Gold

All

As some of you may know, I am doing an Iron Butt ride this weekend. My route is Brampton, ON to St PaCome QC to Windsor, ON to Georgetown, ON. Total distance = 2535 km I will need to do this in less than 24 hours. I have a GPS tracking system setup to monitor me. It will transmit my location every 10 minutes and plot it on a map. If you want to see where I am on the weekend you can view this web site:

http://share.findmespot.com/shared/f...EOrXE0AaiuHKFa

I will be starting at 9:00 am Saturday May 29 at 410 and Sandlewood Parkway, Brampton, Ontario and finish about 8:30 am Sunday May 30 at 401 and Trafalgar Rd.Georgetown, Ontario

Thanks for the support.

Garry

Gary,

In the future you may want to consider using Spotwall, definitely superior to Findmespot even though it uses the same data. Jason Jonas does a great job with it at www.spotwalla.com and doesn't charge anything for it. He does accept donations but certainly not required. He is a huge supporter of the long distance riding community.

Have a safe and great ride!

Hey Garry,

Good luck with the ride. It looks like you'll have fair weather and dry roads. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you and wish you the best for success in your endeavour. Give us a wave as you fly past Exit 222 on the 401.

The SPOT is not mine I am borrowing it from a friend for the weekend. I've emailed him the site to look at.

Way to go, Garry. I missed out on tracking you, and really glad you pulled this off without any glitches or problems. Very impressive group you are in with now!!

I'm not good in math, butt I figger you averaged +/- 71 mph/114kph during this 1,616 mile/2601km run. These figures may be way off, butt are they close to your calculations??

Congratulations on your successful run, Garry!!.... I did an undocumented spontaneous 1043 mile run on my GS last year in less then 24 hrs. I don't remember the actual time but I do remember the sore butt I had when I finished. I think thats about 1000 kms. less than your ride. Well done! I guess us old fellas still have something left. Maybe some time we can hook up and do a run together.

All the best,
Austin.

ps. When you were in New Glasgow last year, my wife was in town with the car and she saw you briefly. More specifically she saw your LT with you and a passenger on it.

Re: Saddle Sore 2500 Gold

Congratulations Garry! Great performance and perhaps some incentive for me to give it a try (when I get the new bike setup). Good to hear that you finished safe and sound.
Cheers

Congrats Garry.

It's all been said before me, so I won't be repetitive, but you should be justifiably proud of yourself on your achievement. A true milestone all of us would be happy to achieve in our lifetime.
