My K1100RS FD just dumped it's load...!
Bad start to 2010 season, but I did get in 300klm. before April came...Ottawa was warm!!!
I see drips under the Final Drive, get new washer, new magnetic plug...all's dry next day, do a change of Gear Oil...start her up, let it warm for 15min., all dry...go for a test drive for 10min....back home, the Final drive literally let all the new Gear oil dump...
So...I'm hearing so many opinions on this I need a sanity check....
1. Just a seal?
2. But a rebuilt one, then learn how to rebuild slowely on this crapped out one.
3. Is this a job for a BMW Master Mechanic?
I would appreciate anyone with intel on this...I commute daily 100klm. and this summer is not starting out well!!!
