Re: Canada Gold Medal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And a good one, IMO. Congrats to the Canadian team for the win, and to both teams for putting on a good contest. I'm not into ice hockey, butt enjoyed that game. There just might be some sore dudes tomorrow, from all the body checks and slams up against the boards!! Caught myself saying "Ouch" more than once!!

Congratulations! It was a great hockey game to watch. Sid (is he still a kid?) for the win. Seemed fitting somehow. Hoping for another one in four years.

Re: Canada Gold Medal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very exciting game, well played by both teams, and my congratulations to Canada. The hockey in these Olympics were some of the best I've seen played in a long time.

Re: Canada Gold Medal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I would have liked for the USA to win, It would have been a wet blanket on the closing ceremony, like a consolation party. It was a good game and an excellent way to end the games. Congrats to all participants! It was a great 2 weeks of winter competition.

Re: Canada Gold Medal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looked to me like the US guys lost all their drive in the OT. Good game though. One of the best I've seen in awhile. It really surprised me when the US came back around to tie it up after being in the hole by two.

Re: Canada Gold Medal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Canada were indeed lucky to win, the only reason that I can think of that they lost is because they had a coach and a general manager who are employed in Canada by the worst team in the NHL, the Toronto Maple Leafs. I knew when I heard that the GM and coach of team USA were coming from the losers (Toronto) that the USA would have to overcome a defecit right from the start. Anyway, it was a great game, and I breathed a deep sigh of relief when it was over. Could have gone either way, and it showed the Americans have a lot of heart to see them tie it with 24 sec left. But, do... y'all know... the player that tied it was the son of a Canadian star from the 1972 series that we had with the Russians......I knew it would take a Canadian connection somewhere.

By the way, congrats to all the USA athletes who did win medals, the most ever by a USA team in winter olympics, and I think the most ever by any one country. Also a note: most gold medals won (by Canada) of any country in winter games. I am glad to see North America show the European and upcoming Koreans and Chineese that North America reigns.

Re: Canada Gold Medal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My perspective is there are no losers - all the athletes are winners in doing the absolute best they can!! The USA hockey team is a winner as well. They played an awesome final game.
Joanne Rochette "only" won a bronze metal in figure skating - but she is clearly an outstanding "winner" and a model for all athletes.

Jeep! I will never forget him visiting my first hockey team after a game on outdoor ice when I was five, and he was a Minnesota North Star. But, did you know that Sidney Crosby went to high school in Minnesota? I knew it would take a Minnesota connection somewhere. Congrats again, and cheers to great hockey.
