Talking Honda convert

Just new to the BMW motorcycles, always had Honda's and still due but came across a 2005 K1200LT with 4200km on the clock. Seems to be the type of machine I've been looking for nothing really like it in the Honda line for two up riding. I was wondering if anybody could give me a ball park figure as to what this bikes worth, I thought the price was fair that I paid but you know you got to ask. It seems to have all the options except the 6 disc changer and navigation system. It did come with a problem with the security system blowing out the fuse for the horn and tail light, cost me a new battery and the electrical junction was warranty. Other than that small problem very happy with the machine just not enough time to ride hope next season to be better.

Re: Honda convert

Welcome Hbb,

Sounds like you got a basically new bike.

I would not worry what your bike is worth as it is a very small market, in Canada, for the LT. If you are happy with your purchase I would leave it at that.

You might want to add your name to the list of Canadian owners and check for any LT
owners in your area.

Welcome aboard!

We won't hold it against you that you were a Honda owner now that you saw the light.

Re: Honda convert

Both are great brands, but I think you will enjoy your BMW. Where are you going to get it serviced.

Re: Honda convert

I had it down at Blackfoot for the warranty work, but I talked to a local shop in Red Deer
( Retro Cycle ) who is willing to bring in shop manual for the bike and who's mechcanic has worked on Beamers before. I purchased the shop cd and I don't think its out of my skill level to work on this bike myself. I have a pretty well equipped shop at home from working on the Honda's,so if someone is in the area and has a break down I should be able to help you out.
